1897 School enumeration records for Noble Twp in Noble County listed Orvin's mother Julia Holser [sic] with children Orvin age 16, Corvin age 16, and Mabel age 10.

1898 Burr Oak "Orvin and John Rivir made a trip to Alvordton, Ohio, last week on their wheels where they visited their uncle, Levi Hosler, had other friends." [3] [4]

1900 Eli Rivir and Julia lived in Liberty Twp, Wabash County, Indiana. The twins, Orvin and Corvin, and daughter Mabel (age 13) lived with them and attended school. [5] [6]

1905 Orvin H. Rivir and Cleora E. Brown were married on December 19, in Wabash County, Indiana. Orvin H Rivir, son of Eli Rivir and Julia Hostler, was born on December 25, 1880, in Noble County, Indiana. [7]

1905 Orvin lived in Wabash County, Indiana at the time of their marriage application. It was witnessed by Orvin's father Eli Rivir. Orvin's occupation was a farmer and his father Eli was a retired farmer and his mother Julia was a housekeeper. Clora lived in Grant County, Indiana. She was an assistant housekeeper while her mother was the housekeeper. Her application was witnessed by her mother Fannie and her father was listed as deceased.

1908 Verda Nora Rivir, child of Orvin Rivir and Cleora Brown, was born on March 21, 1908 in Richland Twp, Grant County, Indiana. (Birth certificate: 14282). [8]

1908 Orin H Rivir was listed in Richland Twp, RFD 10, Marion, Indiana (70 a[cres]). [9]

1910 Orvin Rivir (age 29, born in Indiana, married for 4 years) lived in Richland Twp, Grant County, Indiana, in a household with Cleora Rivir (age 25), Lowell Rivir (age 3), and Verda Rivir (age 2). Orvin Rivir's father was born in Pennsylvania and his mother was born in Ohio. Orvin Rivir could read and write. Orvin Rivir's occupation was farmer. [10] [11]

1913 Orvin H. Rivir bred swine in Marion, Indiana. [12]

Orvin H. Rivir of Marion, Ind. reports his Chesters doing fine. He is sold out of the spring bilts but has a few good April boars left and some good fall pigs sired by Dolly's Model and out of such such sows as Princess Girl 2nd, 51872 and Grand Marie, 51784. He says his neighborhood has been mostly Polands and Durocs but that you can see many whites now. He says "I have asked a great many men that have been breeding two or more breeds which one they like best and they all say the Chesters." Turn to his Ad and mention W. B. C. when writing him.

1915 Orvin H. Rivir was named many times in The Chester White Swine Record as a breeder, buyer and seller of swine. Some of his swine may have been given family names. One was named "Mabel G", perhaps for sister Mabel Good, and another "Rivir's Maiden". [13] In 1917 he listed Fall Maid, Helen G, May Fair, Thelma, and Wonder's Lady. [14]

Mr. Allen has recently purchased the good boar, Billy Wonder, of J. C. Waddle & Son, which they sold to Orvin H. Rivir a year or so ago and then bought back. He was a prize winner at several state fairs. He is one of the best boars in the state and you can pick his pigs out by the uniformity. [15]

1918 Orvin Henry Rivir registered for the WW I draft in Wabash County, Indiana. Orvin Rivir was a farmer in LaFontaine, Wabash County, Indiana, married to Cleora Rivir. Orvin was tall, of medium build, with grey eyes and dark brown hair. [16] [17]

1920 Orvin H Rivir (age 39, born in Indiana, married) lived in Liberty Twp, Wabash County, Indiana, in a household with Cleoria E Rivir (age 35), Lowell T Rivir (age 13), and Verda N Rivir (age 11). Orvin H Rivir's father was born in Pennsylvania and his mother was born in Ohio. Orvin H Rivir's occupation was farmer, own farm, own account. [18] [19]

1921 Cleora C Rivir lived at Richland, Pleasant, La Fontaine, Grant County, Indiana. [20]

1923 Cleora E Rivir lived at Richland, Grant County, Indiana. [21]

1930 Orvin H Rivir (age 49, born in Indiana, married, first married at age 25) lived in Liberty Twp, Wabash County, Indiana, in a household with Cleora E Rivir (age 45), and Maurice Rivir (age 4). Orvin H Rivir's father was born in Pennsylvania and his mother was born in Indiana. Orvin H Rivir's occupation was farmer, General Farm, working on own account. Orvin H Rivir's residence was on a farm. The residence had a radio. [22] [23] [24]

1932 Cleora Ellen Rivir, daughter of Hugh H Brown and Fanny Ellison, died on March 15, 1932 in Wabash County, Indiana, of cancer. [25]

1932 Cleora E. Rivir died and was buried at Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery, Wabash County, Indiana [26]. Cleora Rivir died of cancer [27].

1946 Orvln H Rivir lived at Warren 3, Huntington County, Indiana. Orvln H Rivir's spouse was Ella Rivir. [33]

1949 Orvin H Rivir and Beth S. Rees were issued a marriage license on August 18, 1949 in Wabash County, Indiana. [34]

1951 Orvin H Rivir and Beth lived at Jefferson Twp, Fort Wayne, Indiana. [35]

1967 Orvin H Rivir, married, son of Eli Rivir and Julia Rivir, spouse of Beth Rivir, died on September 21, 1967, at age 86, in Columbia Twp, Whitley County, Indiana. Orvin H Rivir was born on December 25, 1880, in Noble County, Indiana. [36]

1967 In September, Orvin Rivir died of heart failure at Noble County, Indiana. [37] [38]. Orvin H Rivir was buried at Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery, Wabash County, Indiana [39] [40]. "Verda called. Orvin stroke (Sat Nov 9)". "Verda says Orvin about same (Sept 17)". "Orvin died (Nov 21)". "Ida Mae and I left 8:30 for Columbia City - arrived 11:00. Lunch. 1967 Orvin H. Rivir died on September 21.

1980 Beth W Rivir, daughter of Oscar Rees and Louisa Kauttman, died at Warren, Huntington County, Indiana. She was born on May 21, 1892. [43] [44]

1980 Beth S Rees Rivir died on July 4 and was buried at Hillcrest Cemetery, Redkey, Jay County, Indiana. Beth S Rees Rivir was born on May 21, 1892. [45] [46]

Research Notes:

The marriage license for Orvin and Beth Rees indicted that Orvin had been married twice before. The 1940 census names wife Ella, who was perhaps the second wife. The 1942 draft registration named Mrs. Ella Rivir as a contact.
