1880 Eli and Julia Rivir lived in Noble, Noble County, Indiana with children Nella I (age 12), Justice W (age 7), and Nora M (age 2). [1] [2]
1895 Ethel C Stults, daughter of David and Catherine Stults, and Vernon J Rivir, son of Eli and Julianna Rivir, were married at Wolflake, Noble County, Indiana on October 20. The marriage license has the names of Vernon J Rivir and Ethel E Stultz. The minister, S H Dull, named spouses Vernon J Rives and Ethel C Stulk. Vernon River was born in Merriam County, Indiana. 1900 VJ Rivir (age 27), a grocer, and Ethel Rivir (age 21) lived in a rented home in Noble Twp, Noble County, Indiana with daughter Venus (age 3). Ethel's birthdate was listed (erroneously?) as Aug 1878. Ethel had had only 1 child (Venus). The house was on a farm. [11] [12] [13]

1910 Vernon Rivir (age 37) and wife Cora E (age 31) lived with child Venus (age 13) and father Eli Rivir (age 60, widowed) on West Street in Marion, Center Twp, Grant County, Indiana. Vernon was a produce dealer with his own wagon and Eli was retired with his own income. Vernon owned the house with a mortgage. [17] [18] [19]

1928 Mrs. Ethel Rivir of Long Beach, California was named as a surviving daughter in an obituary for her mother, Catharine Stults. "Stults Catharine, wife of David Stults, was born May 28, 1849 and died Oct. 27, 1928, aged 79 years, 5 months and 4 days. She leaves a husband and 4 children, Mrs. Clara Gale of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Hattie Miller of Brimfield, Indiana, Mrs. Ethel Rivir of Long Beach, Calif., and Charles of Fort Wayne; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. One grandchild, Bernice Gale, preceded her in death. She was a member of the Baptist Church for 56 years. Funeral Oct. 20 at the new Baptist Church in Wolf Lake. Burial, Wolf Lake Cemetery. + 10-?-1928" [27]

1930 Mrs. Ethel Rivir of California was named as a surviving daughter in an obituary for her father, David Stults [29]:
Stults David D, the son of Jacob and Rachel Stults, was born near Sandusky, Ohio, on Feb. 7, 1845, and died on March 23, 1930, his age being 85 years, 1 month and 16 days. Being one of the younger of a family of 11 children, he moved to the state of Indiana near Wolf Lake when about 1 ½ years of age and has resided in the same neighborhood ever since. On Aug. 29, 1867 he married Catharine Smith, who died Oct. 27, 1928. They had 4 children, Mrs. Harriet Miller of Brimfield, Mrs. Ethel Rivir of Calif., and Charles L. of Fort Wayne. He was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church at Wolf Lake where funeral was held March 25. Burial, Wolf Lake Cemetery. + 3-?-1930

1964 Daughter Venus Davis sent a telegram to Mabel Rivir about Cora's death. Funeral held at Siewart and Barbers on Saturday.
