Notes for Isaac Decow and Mary Taylor

1748 On 1 of month 2, Isaac Decow was born. [1][2]

1748 On 21 of month 9, Mary Taylor, daughter of John Taylor, was born. [3][4]

The names and birthdates and death dates of nine children of Isaac Decow and Mary Taylor, daughter of John Taylor, were recorded in the Upper Springfield Quaker meeting records. [5][6][7] John Taylor had a duaghter who married a De Cou [8].

1751 On 19 March, Joseph Decow, Trenton, and Isaac Decow, Burlington, were collectors for the estate of Isaac Decow. [9]

1774 The New Jersey Assembly passed "An act to relieve Sarah Ely, Isaac De Cow, and David Brearly Jr. with respect to the loss of their title deeds by fire." [10]

1685 Isaac DeCou registered the ear marking for his swine at the Burlington Court. Isaac's brother Jacob returned to England and sold his plantation to Isaac. [11]

1778 On 15th of 10th mo., Joseph Decou and Achsah Taylor were married at Chesterfield. Isaac and Mary Decow were witnesses. [12]

1785 John Curtis, Jr and Sarah Taylor, daughter of John and Sarah, were married on 10 of month 3, at Chesterfield. Witnessed by Mary and Isaac Decow and many others. [13]

1790 The will of Isaac Decow Sr of Mansfield Twp, Burlington County was dated 19 Dec and proved 24 Jan 1791. Wife Mary received the residue of personal estate and profits of plantation during widowhood and to divide plantation as willed to children 10 years after Isaac's decease. Son Isaac received 30 acres, son Nathan 20 acres, remainder of plantation to be equally divided between sons Daniel and Samuel. Daniel to have the dwelling house and Samuel the wagon house. Daughter Ashsah Decou 6 pounds paid by Daniel and daughter Sarah 6 pounds paid by Samuel whe they are 21. Son Stacy land purchased of Abner Page and Daniel Henery. Executors wife Mary and sons Daniel and Samuel Decou. Witnesses William Satterthwaite, Joseph Satterthwaite, John Black. [14]

1790 On 22 of month 12, Isaac Decow died. [15][16]

1791 William Satterthwaite and Joseph Pancoast made inventory valued at pounds 700.19 on 24 January. [17]

1795 On 16 June, the will of Sarah Taylor, of Nottingham, named eldest daughter, Mary and Stacy Decou, son of Isaac Decou. Grandson Daniel Decou was named executor. [18]

1826 Mary Decow of Mansfield Twp, Burlington County wrote here will in March 1826 and named children Daniel, Stacy, Isaac, Achsah Taylor, and Nathan; and several grand-children. The will was proved on June 6, 1828. [19]
