Notes for Stacy Taylor and Lucy

1778 On 15th of 10th mo., Joseph Decou and Achsah Taylor married at Chesterfield. Stacy Taylor was a witness. [1] [2]

1780 On October 12, Marcy Taylor, daughter of Samuel Taylor, married John Staples Rogers in Burlington County, New Jersey. Witnessed by Stacy Taylor and many others. [3]

1780 On 9 of month 11, John Taylor, son of John and Sarah Taylor of Nottingham, and Phebe Rogers, daughter of Thomas and Ann Rogers of the same place, were married at the Burlington Meeting, Burlington County, New Jersey. Witnessed by Stacy Taylor and many others. [4]

1785 John Curtis, Jr and Sarah Taylor, daughter of John and Sarah, were married on 10 of month 3, at Chesterfield. Witnessed by Stacy Taylor and many others. [5]

1786 On 7th 9th mo, James Schooley and Mary Rogers were married at Chesterfield Friends' Monthly Meeting. The marriage was witnessed by Stacy Taylor. [6]

1787 In May, John Taylor, son of John Taylor, late of Burlington County, deceased, was ordered to appear before the Orphans' Court to answer questions about his knowledge of any codicils to the will of John Taylor. Witnessed by Joshua Wallace, Thomas Fenimore, and Israel Shreve. A complaint was made that codicils had not been properly exhibited. Joel Taylor, Sarah Taylor and Stacy Taylor, executors of the will of John Taylor, were also summoned to appear. [7]

1795 Daughter Sarah was named in the will of Stacy Taylor's mother, Sarah Taylor, of Nottingham Twp, Burlington County. Dated June 16. [8]

1796 The will of Stacey Taylor of Nottingham Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey was dated January 29. Wife Lucy movable estate and yearly profits of plantation until daughters are 18; then 1/3 while she remains my widow. To cousin Nathan (son of Daniel Taylor), 10 pounds. My 2 daughters, Mary and Sarah Taylor, each an equal share of the residue when 18. Executor Joseph M Lowrie. Witnesses: Peter Welsh, Edith Rogers, and William Chapman. Proved January 29, 1796. Inventory, dated February 22, 1796, was valued at 138.2.3 pounds, made by Samuel Abbott and Peter Welsh. [9]

1804 Nathan Middleton was appointed, by Abraham Brown, to be guardian of Mary Taylor and Sarah Taylor, both minors, all of the County of Burlington. Dated February 10. [10]

1804 At the August term, Burlington Orphans' Court at Mount Holly, widow Lucy and John Taylor were interested parties and Joseph M Lawrie was executor for the estate of Stacy Taylor, father of Mary and Sarah Taylor. The account mentioned a note to Sarah Curtis, legacies to Sarah Taylor, Nathan Taylor. Nathan Middleton was named guardian of Mary Taylor, age over 14. Widow Lucy Taylor petitioned the court to appoint Nathan and Martha Middleton as guardian of Sarah Taylor, under age 14. [11]
