1840 Francis Long lived in Franklin County, Mississippi in a household with free white males: 1 (15 thru 19), 2 (20 thru 29), and 1 (60 thru 69); and free white females: 1 (under 5), 2 (10 thru 14), and 1 (40 thru 49); and 15 slaves. ADMINISTRATRIX'S SALE
By virtue of an order to me granted from the honorable Probate Court of Franklin county as administratrix of all and singular the goods and chattels lands and tenements of Francis Long deceased I will expose to public sale on the sixth day of May next within the hours prescribed by law at the residence of Francis Long deceased the following described property to wit: One tract of land on the waters of Wells Creek the numbers as follows — the SE quarter of section 29 in township 6 of range 1 East containing 151 acres and 75-100 of an acre the NW quarter of section 28, in township 6, of range 2 East, containing 152 acres and 60-100 of an acre; the NE quarter of section 31 in township 6 of range 1 East containing 452 acres and 60-100 of an acre containing in all 384 acres. Also one fist rate mill and gin on the place. Terms: 1 and 2 years credit with approved security.
