1830 Henry Barkley was the administrator for the estate of James Cochran, in Lincoln County, North Carolina. [1]

Mary Cochran, born 1772-1784. Mary later married Henry Barkley, who was born August 22, 1776, in the town of Denver, in Lincoln County, NC. They were married about 1798. Henry was the son of Robert Barkley, born March 25, 1753, in Rowan County, NC; and Eleanor Cathey, born in 1753, in Anson County, NC. Mary and Henry had at least six children, four sons and two Daughters. Their sons were Lee Barkley, John Barkley, Hezekiah Cowan Barkley, and Alben Graham Barkley. Their daughters were Betty Barkley, and Lettie Barkley. All of the children were born in Lincoln County, NC. After their last child was born, Mary and Henry moved to the town of Trenton, Tennessee. Henry Barkley died on July 18, 1869, in Trenton, Gibson County, TN.
