Notes for Moses Ivins and Keziah Shreve

1730 Kezia Shreve, born on March 8 in Burlington County, New Jersey, was the eldest child of Benjamin Shreve and Rebecca French. [1] [2]

1750 Moses Ivins was listed among customers at Imlay's Store in Bordentown, New Jersey. [3]

1751 Moses Ivins was listed as a resident of Bordentown, New Jersey. [4]

1753 Moses Ivins married Keziah Shreve, daughter of Benjamin and Rebecca French Shreve, of Burlington County, New Jersey. [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]

1753 A son was born to Moses Ivins. [10]

1755 A daughter was born to Moses Ivins on October 20. [11]

1759 Moses Ivins, perhaps this one, was named in the will of Thomas Taylor. [12]

1760 A son was born to Moses Ivins on February 19. [13]

1766 Moses Ivins and William Shreve of Mansfield Twp, Burlington County, advertised a 10 pound reward for the return of two Irish runaway servants. [14]

1766 Moses Ivins witnessed the will of Elizabeth Cooper, dated October 20, in Burlington County. [15]

1775 Moses Ivins made inventory and witnessed the will of George Hopkins in Monmouth County. [16]

1776 Moses Ivins of Monmouth County was summoned to the New Jersey Provincial Congress on June 19. Moses Ivins did not appear for the summons on June 25. A warrant for the arrest of Moses Ivins was issued on June 26, to deliver him "unto the keeper of the common gaol of the County of Gloucester". On June 29, "A petition from Richard Robins and Moses Ivins, praying a hearing, confessing their faults, offering to make discoveries, and praying a discharge; read and filed. Ordered, That they attend immediately. After the hearing. Ordered, That they be remanded to prison." On August 20, Moses Ivins was fined thirty pounds proclamation money of the state of New Jersey. 1776 "Whereas it appears, from undoubted intelligence, that there are several insurgents in the County of Monmouth," ... Your are hereby ordered to apprehend Richard Robins and Moses Ivins, and to deliver them unto the keeper of the common jail of the County of Gloucester" ... "also to apprehend Anthony Woodward, Jun., Joseph Grover, Guisbert Guisbertson, and Thomas Lewis Woodward" [18] [19]

1777 Moses Ivins of Upper Freehold, Monmouth County, perhaps this one, took an oath to the New Jersey government on March 19. [20]

1780 Moses Ivins of Upper Freehold, Monmouth County, perhaps this one, sold produce to the Continental Army in May. [21]

1783 Keziah Ivins, wife of Moses Ivins, was named on a list of members of the Upper Freehold particular meeting, Burlington County, New Jersey, dated 7 of month 5. [22]

1786 Moses Ivins witnessed the will of Eber De Cow in Mansfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey. [23]

1790 Moses Ivins inventoried the estate of Joseph Beck in Chesterfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey. [24]

1790 Moses Ivins was named on one of ten petitions, 20 Jan 1794, to the Council and General Assembly from inhabitants of Burlington County supporting a law allowing the inhabitants of the county to decide by vote where to ... [25]

1792 Moses Ivins and Daniel Ivins inventoried the estate of Caleb Shreve of Mansfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey. [26]

1796 Moses Ivins was named on a petition, dated February 16, 1796, to the Legislative Council, etc., from inhabitants of Monmouth and Burlington Counties asking for a new road from Monmouth County Court House to Mount Holly in Burlington. [27]

c 1800 A fulling-mill on Lahaway Creek in Jackson Twp was moved to its present location (in Prospertown) and changed to a grist mill by Moses Ivins. This is a possible match, although Moses would be old at this time.

1803 The intestate administration of Moses Ivins was dated April 27, in Monmouth County. Administrator: Caleb Ivins. Fellowbondsmen: Fuller Hornor and Garrett P Wikoff. Inventory valued at £174.13.11, made by John Smith and Fuller Hornor. [28]
