1790 Jacob Schlick, son of Jacob and Barbara Schlick, was born on April 3, 1790. Adam Danner was a sponsor at his baptism. [1]

1820 John Schlick was named on a list of those that pay the minister's salary in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [2]

1820 John Slick lived in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (under 10), 1 (10 thru 15), and 1 (26 thru 44); and females: 2 (under 10) and 1 (26 thru 44). [3]

1821 John, son of John Schlick and Elizabeth, was born on August 29, 1821. He was baptized on October 4, with sponsors Johannes Steiner and Magdalena, at the Bethany church, Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [4]

1823 Daniel, son of Johanes Schlack and Elis, was born on August 7, 1823. He was baptized on November 2, with sponsor Daniel Sped, at the Bethany church, Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [5]

1827 Catharine, daughter of John Schlick and Elizabeth, was born on January 13, 1827. She was baptized on April 28, with her parents as sponsors, at the Bethany church, Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [6]

1828 Henry Steiner, blacksmith of Elizabeth Twp, Lancaster County, wrote his will, dated February 22, 1828. The will named wife Susanna and children Elizabeth married to John Schlick; Sally, married to Christian Wolf; Regina, married to John Zartman; Susanna, married to Jacob Stutenroth; John Steiner; Catharine (now deceased) was married to Jacob Hacker; Henry Steiner; and Anna, married to Daniel Spayde. The will was signed Henrich Steiner and was witnessed by John Sherb and Michael Kline. Son John Steiner was named executor. The will was proved on July 16, 1828. [7]

1830 Jacob Slick lived in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (5 thru 9), 1 (20 thru 29), and 1 (40 thru 49); and females: 1 (5 thru 9), 2 (10 thru 14), 1 (15 thru 19), and 1 (30 thru 39). [8]

1844 Jacob Slick wrote his undated will. The will named son Israel Slick and daughter Mary Ann Slick. All my children, except for Israel were to share equally in the inheritance. No wife was mentioned. A bond due Debts due from the estate of Peter Beck, after the death of Mrs Beck, and a bond due from the Zeigler family after the death of Jacob's mother. Proved on November 25, 1844 in Lancaster County court of common pleas. [9]

1844 Jacob Slick died in 1844, at age 53, in Pennsylvania. Jacob Slick was buried on January 26, 1844, in Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [10]

1860 Elizabeth Slick (age 64, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Israel Slick was listed adjacent. [11]

1863 Elizabeth Slick, spouse of Jacob Slick, died in 1863, at age 73, in Pennsylvania. Elizabeth Slick was buried on September 16, 1863, in Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth Slick was born on March 3, 1790. [12]

1902 Jacob Slick, married, son of John Slick and Elizabeth Stoner, died on September 20, 1902, at age 84, in Lambertville Twp, Monroe County, Michigan. Jacob Slick was born in 1818. [13]

1903 Daniel Slick died on November 6 at Naperville, DuPage County, Illinois and was buried at Naperville Cemetery, Naperville, DuPage County, Illinois. Daniel Slick was born on August 7, 1823. [14] [15]

Daniel Slick was born at Akron, Pa., Aug. 7, 1823.
As a young man he was converted to God and joined the Evangelical Association, to which he proved faithful.
He emigrated to Illinois in May, 1844, and settled near Naperville. On the first of August, 1846, he united with Margaret Schwilly in marriage, and then moved on the farm near Copenhagen, later to Wheatland, Will County, Ill., where they lived until they moved to Naperville about 20 years ago.
Four sons and four daughters were born to them. Three of the daughters died in their youth.
Mr. Slick was a hard working man in his day; the primitive state of things in this then new country furnished ample opportunity for hard labor and constant toil. He was of a quiet disposition and of an upright character.
He was a man who believed in God and who desired the advancement of Christ's kingdom. When about 42 years ago the Rev. Mr. Dickover came into the settlement to proclaim the will of God in Christ Jesus, and there being no church in which to hold divine services father and mother Slick opened their house to the public and possibly the greatest revival in the west, continuing for six weeks, was held in their home. As a loving father he took interest in the spiritual and temporal welfare of his children.
In the latter years he began to fail and to go down under the pressure of old age. When his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Daniel Slick, passed away five weeks ago, he seemed to be overwhelmed with grief which likely helped to speed the day of his death.
Last Friday, Nov. 6, his spirit took its flight to the mansions above. He reached the age of 80 years and 3 months.

1860 Elias Shrantz (age 35, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Catharine Shrantz (33), John Shrantz (14), Elizabeth Shrantz (13), and Sarah A Shrantz (8). Elias Shrantz was a day laborer. [16]

1862 Elias A Schrantz died on September 28 at Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and was buried at Mount Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Akron, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Elias A Schrantz was born on March 6, 1825. [17] [18]

1889 Israel Slick died on July 11 at Akron, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and was buried at Bethany Cemetery, Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Israel Slick was born on May 19, 1821. [19] [20]

1908 Catherine Schrantz, daughter of Jacob Slick and Mrs Steiner, died on August 15, 1908, at age 82, in Akron, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Catherine Schrantz was born on January 13, 1826, in Pennsylvania. (Death certificate: 73589). [21] [22]

Research Notes:

Perhaps son John, born 1821, was named Israel.

1850 Israel Slick (age 29) lived in Ephrata Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Eliza Slick (age 31), Mahala Slick (age 8), Mary Ann Slick (age 6), and Analiza Slick (age 5). [23]
