1709 George Holloway was born about 1709 in Burlington County, New Jersey. [1]

1717 George Holloway was to receive £2 at age 21 in the will of his father, John Holloway. After his father's death, George was cared for by his uncle James Pharo, brother of his mother. [2]

1725 Avis Holloway married Samuel Schooley, son of Thomas Schooley, on May 27, in Chesterfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey. Witnessed by Mary, James, and George Holloway and others. [3] [4]

1731 George Holloway of Hunterdon County, New Jersey married Ruth Wood of Burlington County, New Jersey on November 10, at Springfield, Burlington County. Witnesses: Jane Shreve, Mary Woods, James Pharo (uncle and foster father of George), Richard French, Joshua Shreve, Wm Coate, Mary French, Sarah Shreve, Tho. Johnson, Sarah Scattergood, Thomasin Scattergood, Mary Curtis, Susanna Shreve, John Holloway (brother of George), James Holloway (brother of George), Joanna Sykes, Rebecca Warren, Frances Scholey, Mary Sohns?, Abigail Wright, Susanna Fowler, Mary Sykes, Ann Sykes, Jans Satterthwaite, Caleb Shreve, John Warren, John Scholey, John Sykes, Joseph Arney, Isaac Cowgill, Jane Curtis, Samuel Satterthwait, Joseph Reckless. 1732 Samuel Scholey of "Nutown" [Newton], N. J., sold to George Holloway of Hunterdon County, New Jersey, 130 acres on a ridge of hills lying between the river or creek called "Murkenebkong" and the South Branch of the Raritan River, adjoining the lands of Isaac DeCoues. This land sold to his brother James Holloway of Chester field in 1737. Dated June 1. (Trenton Deeds U-92) [10] [11]

1745 George Holloway of Bethlehem, Hunterdon County, N. J., and Ruth, his wife, sold to Yorie Eike 250 acres in Roxbury, Norris County, New Jersey, which he purchased of Thomas Scholey in 1733 for the sum of 170 Pounds. Dated February 7. (Trenton Deeds G/H-426) [12]

1745 George and Ruth Holloway lived at Bethlehem, Hunterdon County, New Jersey in Feb. 1745.

1749 George Holloway and wife Ruth produced a certificate of removal from the monthly meeting at Bethlehem directed to this [Burlington] meeting. Recorded on 7 of 6th month, 1749 at Burlington. [13]

1752 George Halloway desired a certificate of removal for himself and Ruth his wife to the monthly meeting at Little Egg harbor. Recorded on 4th of 5?th month, 1752 at the Burlington meeting. [14]

1757 Isaac and George, sons of George Holloway, were named in the will of George's uncle James Pharo. [15]

1765 George Holloway had a Certificate of removal granted to Burlington monthly meeting for himself and his wife. Recorded on 1st day of ye 8mo 1765 at Chesterfield. Received 2 of 9th month 1765 at Burlington. [16] [17]

1774 George and Ruth Holloway received a certificate of removal from Burlington County, New Jersey to the Hopewell Meeting, [Frederick County] Virginia. Dated 3 of month 1. [18] [19]

1774 A certificate for George Holloway and Ruth his wife was produced at the Hopewell Monthly Meeting, Frederick, Virginia from Burlington. Dated 4 of month 7. [20] [21]

Children reported as: John married Margaret Buck; William married Ann Martin; Isaac married Mary Haines; Mary married Samuel Taylor; Sarah married Robert More; George married Elizabeth Laurie; Asa married first Abigail Wright, second Elizabeth Poole, and third Margaret Nichols; Richard married Mary Hoffmire; and James married Mary.

Several researchers have named Isaac Wood and Sarah French as the parents of Ruth Wood, born November 11, 1714.

Several researchers have named Jonathan Wood and Elizabeth Thurston as the parents of Ruth Wood, born August 7, 1710.

Several researchers report the death date of George Holloway as 1774 or 1796 in Springfield, Virginia.
