1870 On June 1, William Crossland (age 24), Elizabeth Crossland (age 23), and Mary Crossland (age 1) lived in Cleveland Ward 9, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. William was a puddler and was born in Ireland. Elizabeth and Mary were born in New York. [1]

1878 James W. Crossland, son of William and Elizabeth Crossland, was born on December 23 in Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan. [2] [3]

1880 On June 9, William Crossland (age 40) and his wife Elizabeth (age 40) lived in East Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan, with their children Mary (age 12), Henry (age 8), Marget (age 7), and James (age 2). William and his parents were born in Ireland. Elizabeth and her parents were born in New York. Mary was born in New York and the other children in Michigan. [4]

1881 Elizabeth Crossland died on December 22 in East Saginaw, Saginaw, Michigan. She died of consumption at age 36 years, 10 months, and 7 days. She was born in New York. Her mother. Margaret V. Culley, was living in Bay City, Michigan, and her father, ___ Vaughn, was deceased. [5] Elizabeth was buried in Calvary Cemetery, Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan. [6]

1900 On June 6, William Crossland (age 57, a widower) lived in Saginaw, Michigan in Ward 1 at 400 No. Eighth. He was born in March 1843 in Ireland, his father was born in England, and his mother in Ireland. William was living in the household of his daughter Maggie (age 27, born in January 1873) and her husband William Shroader (age 32, born in December 1867). Maggie was the mother of 1 child but had no children living. She was born in Ohio, her father in Ireland and her mother in New York. William Shroader was born in Michigan and both his parents were born in Germany. He was a day laborer. William Crossland immigrated to the U.S. in 1845 and had been here for 55 years. His occupation was machinist. [7]

1910 On April 25, William Crossland (age 68 and a widower) lived in Jackson, Michigan, at 1011 Francis Street in Jackson Ward 5, in the household of Lawrence (age 41) and Mary (age 41) Quirk, his son-in-law and daughter, and their children Catherine (age 18), Marie (age 16), Helen (age 10), and Lawrence (age 5). William was a machinist in the rail road industry. He and his parents were listed as born in England and his year of immigration as 1842. Mary and her mother were born in New York. Lawrence was a locomotive engineer. He was born in Michigan and his parents in Ireland. The children were born in Michigan. [8]

1920 On January 1, William Crossland (age 75) was living in Jackson, Michigan, at 1011 Francis Street in Jackson Ward 5, in the household of Lawrence (age 51) and Mary (age 52) Quirk, his son-in-law and daughter, and their daughter Helen (age 20). William, a widower, was born in Ireland, his father in England and his mother in Ireland. Lawrence was a locomotive engineer and Helen was a stenographer. William's year of immigration was 1849, and his year of naturalization was 1853(? or 1863). [9]

1920 Son James Crossland of Saginaw, Michigan, died on July 22 in Pontiac State Hospital, Pontiac, Oakland County, Michigan. His death certificate lists his age as 41 years, 6 months, 29 days, his occupation as R.R. brakeman, his parents as William Crossland and Elizabeth Vaughn, both born in Ireland, his wife as Elizabeth Crossland, and his cause of death as general paralysis of the insane. [10]

1928 William Crossland (age 84 years and 4 days) died on March 21 at his home, 952 Chittock Avenue, Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan. He was the widower of Elizabeth Crossland. He was born in Ireland on March 17, 1844, and he was a retired machinist. [11] William was buried in Calvary Cemetery, Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan. [12]
