1771 Daniel Stauffer was born on March 29. [1] [2] [3]

1781 Mary Rohrer was born on December 25, along the Conestoga, the year the American Revolution ended. [4] [5] [6] [7]

1802 The will of John Stauffer bequeathed land to his son Daniel, adjacent to land of Isaac Rohrer, perhaps the father of Maria Rohrer. [8]

1803 Mary Rohrer and Daniel Stauffer were married on November 1, and they lived on the Conestoga a little farther north. [9] [10] [11]

1804 Daniel and Mary Stauffer were made the guardian of her youngest brother, Abraham, when Mary's father died. [12]

1850 Daniel Stauffer (age 79, born in Pennsylvania) lived in East Lampeter Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Mary Stauffer (age 69), Maria Stauffer (age 42), Hetty Stauffer (age 29), Benjamin Stauffer (age 23), Elizabeth Stauffer (age 21), Levi Bowers (age 16), John Bowers (age 12), and Godfreied Lutz (age 30). Daniel Stauffer's occupation was farmer, Agriculture.

1855 Daniel Stauffer died on September 24. [13] [14] [15]

1860 Mary Stauffer (age 79) lived in East Lampeter Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Martha Martin (age 29). [16]

1870 Mary Stauffer (age 88, born in Pennsylvania) lived in East Lampeter Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Benjamin R Stauffer (age 43), Anna Stauffer (age 32), Daniel M Stauffer (age 14), Mary K Stauffer (age 10), Lizzie K Stauffer (age 7), Anna K Stauffer (age 3), and Rosanna Hoffman (age 21). 1873 Mary Rohrer Stauffer died on January 2 or June 2. [19] [20] [21] She was buried at Mellingers. [22] [23] [24]

1894 Son Henry R Stauffer dated his will in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He died on March 20. The probate date was April 28. [25]

1914 Benjamin R Stanffer, son of Daniel Stauffer and Mary Rohrer, died on November 6, 1914, at age 87, in E Lampeter Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Benjamin R Stanffer was born on February 26, 1827, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [26]

Daniel Stauffer, son of John Stauffer and Veronica Buckwalter, married Mary Rohrer, and to them were born eleven children, of whom the living are four sons and two daughters. [27]

A biosketch of son Benjamin Stauffer reports [28]:

The father of our subject was born on the old homestead March 29, 1771, and choosing the life of an agriculturist, became the owner of one hundred and eighty acres of the home farm. He was well read, especially in the Scriptures. and was a devoted member of the Mennonite Church. In agriculturist of this county, but later removed to Ohio, where he died. Mary, who was born in March, 1807, died in 1856, unmarried. John was born January 27, 1809, and departed this life in the Buckeye State in 1867. Henry was born Decemher 28, 1812, and died March 19,1894. Isaac was born July 1, 1814, and became a farmer of Martic Township, where he died November 18, 1885. Susan, born January 22, 1817, married Samuel Kurtz, and died September 4, 1845, in Manheim Township. Christian was born September 25, 1818, and is engaged as a cabinet-maker in Louisville, Ky. Esther, born March 28, 1820, is the wife of Joseph Herr, of West Lampeter Township, this county. Ephraim was horn in May, 1821, and died in Ohio in 1859. Our subject was the next in order of birth. Elizabeth, whose birth occurred November 22, 1828, is a widow, and makes her home in Ohio. The father died on the 21st of September, 1855, and the mother on the 2d of January, 1873.

The original of this sketch was educated in the common schools, and has spent almost his entire life on the old homestead, of which he now owns ninety-three acres, For two years he was engaged in milling, but after his marriage returned to the farm, where he has since resided, and is now occupied in its cultivation with good results. Mr. Stautfer was one of the organizers and Directors of the Eastern Market of Lancaster. He is a stanch Democrat in politics and an active member of the Mennonite Church. He is a very religious man, and active in all good works in his community.

Mr. Stauffer was married December 25, 1853, to Miss Elizabeth R., daughter of Rev. Joseph Mayer, a minister in the Dunkard Church. To them were born three children, of whom two died in infancy, and Daniel M., born in 1856, is engaged as a carpenter in East Petersburg Township. Mrs. Stauffer departed this life September 21, 1857, and January 6, 1859, our subject married Miss Anna S., daughter of George Kreider. Of their children. Mary, who was born December 25, 1859, married lsaac Buckwalter, and is now deceased; Elizabeth, born March 3, 1863, married Levi B. Huber, and is living in Manheim Township; Anna K., born January 1, 1867, is the wife of Amos Kreider, and makes her home in this township; and Emma K., born April 6, 1871, married Henry H. Frank, and is living in this county.
