Complete Peerage states, [2]

Sir Thomas de Poynings, s. and h. [of Michael de Poynings],(g) held 10 fees of Earl de Warenne at Poynings in 1242-43;(h) and in June 1246 was the knight app. in Sussex to aid the escheator.(i) He m., before 1240, Ela, da. of Robert Aiguillon, by Margery his wife.(j) She d. some time before Mich. 1251.(k) He was living 31 Aug. 1266, but d. some time before 24 Sep. 1272.(l)
