1563-1564 Thomas Hunt, pistor, was admitted as a freeman of Leicester. [2]

1563 "William the Sonne of Thomas Hunte" was baptized "the first day of November" at St. Nicholas, Leicester, Leicestershire. [3]

1565 "Johane the daughter of Thomas Hunte" was baptized on September 20 at St. Nicholas, Leicester, Leicestershire. [4]

1567 "Thomas the sonne of Thomas Hunte" was baptized on April 10 at St. Nicholas, Leicester, Leicestershire. [5]

1569 "Richard, the sonne of Thomas Hunte" was baptized on October 18 at St. Nicholas, Leicester, Leicestershire. [6]

1571 "Elizabeth the daughter of Thomas Hunte" was baptized on November 13 at St. Nicholas, Leicester, Leicestershire. [7]

1583-1584 "Tho. Huntt" was one of the three fish testers of the borough of Leicester. [8]

1584-1585 William Huntt, baker, 1st son and apprentice of Thomas, baker, was admitted as a freeman of Leicester. [9]

1588-1589 "Tho. Huntt" was one of the two chamberlains of the borough of Leicester. [10]

1589/90 Thomas Hunt was among those who signed a statement concerning land granted to the borough of Leicester by Queen Elizabeth, dated Jan. Feb. [11]

1590 Thomas Hunt's assessment was listed in a subsidy roll on October 12. Seven of the nine men in his ward were assessed the same amount as Thomas. [12]

1598-1599 Thomas Hunte, the younger, baker, 2nd son and apprentice of Thomas Hunte, the elder, baker, was admitted as a freeman of Leicester. [14]

1599 In a charter granted by Queen Elizabeth on June 1 to "ratify, etc., or create anew the said Mayor and burgesses of the borough of Leicester "into another body corporate and politic" with additional liberties, Thomas Hunt was named in the "Company of eight and forty" burgesses called the Common Council of the borough of Leicester to "help the Mayor and Alderman in all matters touching the borough." 1599 On October 31, instructions were issued concerning a suit brought by Thomas Hunt, Roger Hall, and other bakers of Leicester. [17]

Suit to the Common Oven.
Hall Papers II, No. 736. [Oct. 31, 1599.] After our hartie commendacions, whereas certaine variances have latelie depended in the Duchie Chamber at Westminster, betwene Thomas Hunt, Roger Hall, and others bakers of your towne, plaintiffs, and William Beckett weaver of the same towne, defendant, aboute the baking of spiced breade and cakes and other smale thinges of like nature, not therby withdrawing suche sute as, with baking of his other breade, is due to the common backhowse there, wherewith the saide bakers seeme not to be contented: In respecte whereof we are to require yow, yat yow take suche order with the saide bakers, that yow and they permitt the saide Beckett to bake suche smale thinges (as he hath vsed in your towne) in his owne howse, as divers others in that towne have done, which in our opinyons maie be done in some measuer, considering how the price of corne is fallen, withoute preiudice either to your corporacion or the said bakers of the said towne. Of your accomplishment whereof in some moderate sorte
we doe not doubte. From Westminster, this last of October, 1599.

1599-1600 Richard Huntt, baker, apprentice of Thomas Hunt, the elder, baker, was admitted as a freeman of Leicester.[18]

1599/1600 A letter concerning the instruction received about the suit by Thomas Hall and other bakers was sent in January. [19]

Bakers suit.
Hall Papers II, No. 723. [Jan. 10?, 1600.] Righte worshippfull, whereas itt hath pleased the right worshippfull Roberte Clarke and John Saville esquiers, twoo of her Maiesties Barons of her heighnes honorable courte of Exchequer, togeyther with your selfe to directe your lettres of the last of Octobre to vs, to thend wee sholde cawle before vs Thomas Hunt, Roger Hall and others, bakers of our burrowe of Leicester, plaintiffs, and William Beckitt weyver of the same burrowe, defendant, and to take order betwixt them, so as the said bakers wolde permit the said Beckett to bake suche smale thinges as hee hathe vsed, wherevppon, righte worshippfull, wee accordinglie have called the said plaintiffs and defendant before vs, but can take no order betwixt them; for that the said Beckett saithe, vnles hee maye be suffered to bake suche sortes of bread and as muche weekelie as hee heretofore hath vsed, hee will answere them to the lawe, and therefore we have taken no order betwixte them, but have lefte them to the order of the honorable courte of the duchie. And further maie itt please yowe, suche sortes of breade as hee and others in our towne doe nowe use to bake in their howses, as spiced cakes, bur1es, biskettes and other spiced breades (beinge breade oute of sise1, and not by lawe allowed) are prohibited (torn)
Christmas vppon payne of forfeyture of suche spiced breades to the poore. And further in Easter terme last, there was an injunction graunted oute of the said honorable courte of the duchie, prohibitinge the said Beckitt and all others in our said towne and subbarbes from bakinge anye suche sortes of vnlawfull breades ; which wee take (vnder your worshippes reformacion) to bee a sufficient warrant and discharge, as well for the said Beckitt, as others, from bakinge suche sortes of vnlawfull breade. And thus beinge boulde and trowblesome to your worshippe, wee humblie take our leaves. From Leicester this 10(?) of Januarye 1599.

1602-1603 Thomas Hunt was one of the company of "The Forty-eight" members of the Common Council of the borough of Leicester. [20]

1606 Thomas Hunt was buried on December 4 at St. Nicholas, Leicester, Leicestershire. [21]

1608 The will of Thomas Hunt of Leicester was proved in the Archdeaconry Court of Leicester. [22]
