1598-1599 Thomas Hunte, the younger, baker, 2nd son and apprentice of Thomas Hunte, the elder, baker, was admitted as a freeman of Leicester. [2]

1599 "Anne the daughter of Thomas Hunte" was baptized on April 8 at St. Nicholas, Leicester, Leicestershire. [3]

1601 "William ye Sonne of Thomas Hunt" was baptized on March 25 at St. Nicholas, Leicester, Leicestershire. [4] [5]

1607/08 On January 20, Willelmus Hunt and Thomas Hunt were members of the company of forty eight councilors of the borough of Leicester and voted no in a decision concerning an assessment. [13]

1609 "Elizabeth the Daughter of Thomas Hunt" was baptized "the second Daye of aprill" at St. Nicholas, Leicester, Leicestershire. [14]

1614 The town sought justice after John Blount and Thomas Hunt were stopped in Gainsborough and required to pay a toll. [24]

Whereas our lovinge neighbours John Blount and [Thomas Hunt] have of late made there repaire to the towne of Hull and there bought certen Corn and other commodities, and in there waie homewarde att your towne of Gaynesborowe have beene staid for paiement of toll and forced to leave there Corne in lue of toll and there monye for passage and other Custome which you challenge Theise are therefore to signifie unto you that his Maiesties Borough of Leicester (is one of the most auncient Corporacions within his highnes domynions scituate in the verie midle and harte of his Maiesties Realme of Englande And hath tyme out of mynde been free from paiement of all manner of toll stallage and other like custome throughe out the wholl Realme of England Aswell by Sea as by lande) As by the grannts and Charters of his highnes most noble progenitors made and grannted to the Maior and Burgesses and all other free in habitants within the saide Borough of Leicester to passe and goe toll free with there things and Marchanndizes more att large [it may] Appeyre yett notwithstandinge the Shewinge of A coppie of our said Charters [illegible] have by your officers not onlie taken from the said John Blount and [Thomas Hunt] certen quantities of Corne in lue of toll but allsoe monye for and [illegible] or other Custome which you suppose to bee due by them the takinge [illegible] and monye we doe assure ourselves you have no could or grannt [illegible] same of right from them. And therefore wee intreate you as [illegible] you woulde be pleased to cause your officers to redelyver to the said John [Blount] and Thomas Hunt or there Servants all the said Corne and monye allreadie [illegible] and to permitt and suffer them and all other thinhabitants of Leicester to freelie [pass] by you with these merchandizies shewinge these Charters otherwise you will give us and our wholl Corporacion just cause to comence suite in lawe against the takers of the saide toll come to maineteyne the Anncient priviledge and freedomes of our Borough * * * And in soe doinge shall find us readie to requite you in what wee maie And allwaies rest.

1614 On St. Matthew's Day (September 21) Willhelmus Huntt and Thomas Huntt, members of the company of forty eight councilors, were each assessed xs. in an assessment in the borough of Leicester. [25]

1617 In his will, dated 26 March 1617, Robert Heyrick, alderman of Leicester, established several payments to be made in perpetuity from his property including "forth of the Grey Friars yearly to be paid to the schoolmaster that should teach the petties (or under usher of the free school of Leicester), or in the place wherein Mr. 'Thomas Hunt now teacheth.' the sum of 13s, 4d. to be paid yearly by whomsoever should have the ground, at the feast of St. Michael the Archangel." [26]

1618 The Chamberlains' accounts for 1617-1618 included a payment to another man for the time when Mr. Hunt was gone from the school. [27]

Item given to Mr Parker for teachinge the schoolors when Mr Hunt was gone from the schoole whoe took with him Mr Clarks Guift of xs. due att Michaellmas 1618 in respecte of his poore estate xs.

1620 Thomas Hunt was buried on March 30 at St. Nicholas, Leicester, Leicestershire. [28]

1627-1628 William Hunt, vintner, 1st son of Thomas Hunt, baker, decd., was admitted as a freeman of Leicester. [29]
