1652 Susanna Phillips granted one half of a house in Boston to her daughter Rebecca Lord. [1]

Given to my daughter Rebeckha Lord & hir heires for euer that pte of the howse which she now liveth In wth the land to it belonging butting on the east side vppon the high way on the north side vpon goodman martjns Lane and on the west on ye sajd goodman martins garden and on the south on hir sister Thirston. for hir & hir heires for euer freely to hold as hir propper & peculiar Right from the clajme Challenge & molestacon of

1653 On December 10, Richard Thurston of Boston, mariner, nominated his loving brethren Charles Thurston and Robert Lord his attorneys. [2] [3]

Be it knowne unto all men by these presents that I Richard Thurston of Boston New England marriner have Nominated ordained and Constituted, and by these prsents doe Nominate, make, Ordaine & Constitute my Loveing Brethren Charles Thurston and Robert Lord of Boston aforesaid Marriners my very true and Lawfull Attornys Jointly and Severall for me and in my Name and to my use to ask, require, levy, recover & receive all & Sigular Debts, dues, Demands reckonings & Accompts Sume & Sumes of money, Wares Merchandizes Goods & Tobaccos due,oweing and appertaining unto me the Said Richard Thurston by Bill, bond, Booke writing or otherwise howsoevr Giving and by these presents Granting unto my Said Attorny's or either of them my full and Lawfull power to Sue arrest attach, declare, Implead, imprison, Condemn and release the Said Debtor or any of them, Acquittances or any other Lawfull discharge for me and in my Name to make Seale and Deliver One Attorney or more under them or either of them to ordaine and make and at pleasure againe to revoke, And Moreover to Say, doe, Execute, Conclude Compose, Compound, perform and finish any Matter or things whatsoever, which are or Shall be needfull or requisite in and about the premisses as amply and Effectually as I my Self may or might doe if I were there present in person and did the Same my Self, Allowing Ratifying confirming & Establishing whatsoever my Said Attorneys or either of them Shall happen Lawfully to doe or Cause to be done in and about the premisses, And thereunto I bind my Self my heirs Executrs And Admrs firmly by these presents. In Wittness whereof I have here-unto Sett my hand and Seale the 27th day of October in the yeare of our Lord God 1653.

1656/57 On January 8, William Phillips of Boston sold a house in Boston for his sons-in-law Capt. Richard Thurston and Mr. Robert Lord, per their instructions. The house was jointly owned by Martha, wife of Richard Thurston, and Rebecca, wife of Robert Lord, and had been a gift to them by William Phillips their father and his former wife Susanna, from her estate. Richard and Martha Thurston and Robert and Rebecca Lord had inhabited the house before they went with their families to England. [4]

1661 "William sonne of Robert Lord of Ratcliffe Mariner and Rebecca" was baptized on August 8 "41 days olde" at St. Dunstan and All Saints, Stepney. [5]

1668 "An Infant sonne of Robert Lord of Ratcliff Mariner" was buried on October 14 at St. Dunstan and All Saints, Stepney. [6]

1671/72 An "Infant daughter of Robert Lord of Ratcliff Mariner" was buried on March 18 at St. Dunstan and All Saints, Stepney. [7]

1729 On April 21, the following notice was published in the New England Weekly Journal: [8]

To all whom it doth Concern, Whereas Major William Phillips heretofore of S co in the late Province of Mayne (alias Yorkshire,) now known by the County of York, by a good Deed well Executed & Recorded, bearing date June the 15th. 1676. Gave, Granted, and Confirmed to Robert Lord & Rebecca his Wife, Samuel Phillips, William Phillips, Mary Field, Martha Thurston, Rebecca Lord, Elizabeth Alden, Zachariah Gillam, Peleg Sanford, Isbon Sanford, Elisha Sanford, Eliphal Stretton, John Joyliff, John Woodmansie, Elisha Hutchinson, Theodore Atkinson, John Sanford and William Hudson, 19000 Acres of Land, being part of a certain Tract of Land about Eight Miles Square, lying on the Western Side of Kenebunk River, and adjoining to the Inland head of the Township of Wells, to be laid out for a Township; the Deed of which Land Executed and Delivered by Fluellin, an Indian Sagamore to the said Major Phillips was in the Year 1670, Confirmed by Ferdinando Gorges Esq; then called Lord Proprietor of the Province of Mayne. And the said Land hath been some Years since Surveyed and laid out by a Sworn Surveyor, and Chain Men under Oath, and the Surveyors return with the Plat by him taken thereof, is on Record in York County.
And Forasmuch as a considerable Number of the Proprietorsof the said Land, are desirous, That partition should be made of the same, in Order to the Settlement of a Township, according to the Declared Intention of the said Major Phillips, the Donor:
Publick Notice is hereby given to all Persons Interested in the said Land, That they appear at the Royal Exchange Tavern in Boston, on the first Tuesday of May next, being the Sixth Day of said Month, at Three of the Clock in the Afternoon, to Consider of and Determine what shall be thought requiste and Lawful to be done, in Order to a Speedy Division and Settlement of the said Land.
