Chicago 1914.Butler, Charles J., president Morgan & Wright; born, Worcester, Mass., May 1, 1862; son of Horace W. and Sarah (Newell) Butler; educated Akron (Ohio) High School; married, April 26, 1893, Emma Seiberling, of Akron; one son, Charles Monroe. Began active career in bank, Akron, O., 1880, continuing 10 years; removed to Marion, Ind., 1891, as manager of Indiana Rubber Co.; went to Peoria, Ill., 1895, as secretary Peoria Rubber Co.; became president Morgan & Wright, manufacturers rubber goods, with headquarters in Chicago, 1903; removed plant to Detroit, 1906; also president G & J Tire Co., Indianapolis; vice president United States Tire Co., New York. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Trustee Detroit University School. Republican. Clubs: Detroit, Detroit Athletic, Detroit Boat, Chicago Athletic Association (Chicago). Recreations: boating, fishing. Office: Morgan & Wright, foot of Bellevue Ave. Residence: 223 Iroquois Avenue.
