Research Notes:

The Purefoy pedigree in Lipscomb's History and Antiquities of the County of Buckingham starts with William Purefoy of Misterton, co. Leicester, living in 1312 and 1344, and shows for him a son Phillip Purefoy of Misterton in 1368 and Church Over, co. Warwick, married to Margaret, daughter and heiress of Sir John de Shirford of Shirford, co. Warwick, circa 9 Edward II. The pedigree shows two sons of Phillip and Margaret, William Purefoy, 1396 and 1413, married to Margaret, daughter of Sir William Chetwynd, knight, of Ingestrie, co. Stafford, and "Thomas Purefoy, Legis peritus et de consilio Ric. de Bello-Campo, Warwic. Com. 6 Hen. V. of Fen Drayton, co. Leicester." [3]
