Research Notes:

Keats-Rohan states of Nigel de Albigni, [1]

Son of William, seigneur of Saint-Martin-d'Aubigny, Manche, arr. Coutances, brother of Abbot Richard of St Albans. Ancestor of the de Albini family of Cainhoe, Bedfordshire. Married Amice de Ferrers, by whom he had three sons, Henry, William, and Nigel (Mon. Ang. ii, 279, 392-3) and a daughter Adeliza who attested a charter of his son Henry and was probably the wife of Richard fitz Osbert (BL Lansdowne 229, fol. 147r). A concubine of his was mentioned in Domesday Bedfordshire. He was succeeded by Henry shortly before 1100. See L. Loyd, 'The origin of the family of Aubigny of Cainhoe', Bed. Hist. Rec. Soc. xix (1937), 101-9; Comp. Peer. ix, 366-7.
