1312 Walter Kelke and his wife Margery were married by July 13 on which date Roger de Somervyle granted land to Walter de Kelk and his wife Margery. [1]

Grant in tail by Roger de Somervyle, Lord of Burton Annays, to Walter de Kelk and Margery his wife, of a plat of turbary and marsh in Burton Annays called Thorneholm Ker, lying in length between the field of Grauncemor called Thornholm, and the head (capud) of Milnebergh towards the north, and in breadth between the … (tert'am) of Milneberg, and the fields of Little Kelk and Great Kelk as appears by the meets and bounds placed there, and also a plat of meadow called Whithulle, as it lay near the field of Grauncemor called Thorneholm on the west, at a yearly rent of 20s. Power to the grantees to spread (ad spargendam) dry and stack (tassandam) their turves in the said turbury and marsh on the grantor's … (tert'am) of Milneberg. 1321 Robert son of Richard de Magna Kelk granted land in Magna Kelk to Walter de Kelk and his wife Marjory and Walter's son William de Kelk on November 22, in exchange for land Walter de Kelk had given the grantor and his wife in tail. [4]

Grant by Robert son of Richard de Magna Kelk, to Walter de Kelk, and Marjory his wife, and William de Kelk, Walter's son, of a toft and croft and half a bovate of land in Magna Kelk, which the grantor had by inheritance on the death of Richard of Magna Kelk, to be held of the chief Lord of the fee in exchange for a toft and a croft and half a bovate of land which Walter de Kelk had given the grantor and his wife in tail. A pedigree of the Kelke family states that Walter Kelke of Great Kelke, Yorkshire, son of Robert Kelke and a daughter of John Paynell, married Margery, daughter of Sir William St. Quintin of Harpham, Yorkshire. [7]
