1865 Mary Jane Schooley, daughter of Isaac Schooley, married Charles H Thompson on January 8, in Hamilton Twp, Mercer County, New Jersey. [1]

1870 Mary J Thompson (age 30, born in New Jersey) lived in Trenton Ward 3, Mercer County, New Jersey, in a household with Chas Thompson (age 29). [2]

1880 Charles Thompson (age 38, born in Pennsylvania, married) lived in Plumstead Twp, Ocean County, New Jersey, in a household with Mary J. Thompson (age 39), Frank Thompson (age 9), and Emma Thompson (age 7). Charles Thompson's father was born in Scotland and his mother was born in New Jersey. Charles Thompson's occupation was laborer. 1893 Sgt. Charles H. Thompson died on February 22, and was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey. [4]

Civil War Union Soldier. He was enrolled in 9th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry on September 10, 1861, and was mustered in as a Sergeant in Company C on September 20, 1861. He served a full three years in the field and was honorably mustered out on December 8, 1864.

On March 17, 1893 his wife, Mary J. Thompson, applied for a United States Army Widow's Pension (Application #572322, Certificate #371157)

1893 Emma Thompson (age 21) and Howard Carter were married on August 19, in Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey. [5]

1900 Mary J Thompson (born in New Jersey in Jun 1840, widowed) lived in Trenton Ward 3, Mercer County, New Jersey, in a household with Frank F Thompson (age 29). Mary J Thompson's parents were both born in New Jersey. Mary J Thompson had had 2 children, 2 still living. [6]

1900 Emma Carter (born in New Jersey in MarCH, 1873, married for 7 years), wife, lived in Trenton Ward 6, Mercer County, New Jersey, in a household with Howard Carter (age 34), and Fred Carter (age 5). Emma Carter's parents were both born in New Jersey. Emma Carter had had 1 child, 1 still living. [7]

1905 Mary J Schooley Thompson died on June 25 and was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey. "Mrs Mary J Thompson, widow of Charles H Thompson, died yesterday at her home, 112 Cooper street. She was 65 years of age. Mrs Thompson was the daughter of the late Isaac and Maria Schooley, who lived on South Broad Street. The funeral services will take place at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from her late residence. Interment will be made at Greenwood cemetery under the direction of Harry A Ashmore. Trenton Times 26 June 1905 " [8]

1905 Frank J Thompson (son) and Emma Carter (daughter) petitioned the court on June 24, as heirs of Mary J Thompson, late of Trenton. [9]
