Notes for James Graham and Margaret Heart

1644 A contract for the marriage of James Grahame and Margaret Heart, daughter of David Heart and Jean Mowat, dated February 21, specifies that James Grahame's part of the agreement is to be done by the "advyse of the said Dauid Heart if he sall be on lyff And failyeing of him throw deceas be the advyse of the said William Heart his eldest sone and of Mr John Heart Minister his secund sone or ather of thame." [1]

1649 Apr 16. Disposition by Robert, earl of Morton, to James Grahame, merchant, son of deceased George Grahame of Morsyde and Margaret Heart, his spouse, of Knarstane, Lingrow, Tofts, Warbuster and Hatstane, in parish of St Ola. [2]

1656 March 8, Kirkwall. Bond of caution by George Heart, son of David Heart of Rusland, in favour of James Graham, merchant in Edinburgh, now resident in the sheriffdom of Orkney, sometime spouse to Margaret Heart, of the sum of £155 contained in a bond by the said Margaret in favour of Captain John Wood, merchant in London, dated 4 June, 1655, and assigned by him to John Forrester, writer in Edinburgh on 7 February, 1656, if the said George should be found liable for that sum by the Lords of Council and Session. [3]

1661 James Graham and Margaret Nisbet were married at Kirkwall on February 5 by Mr. James Reid. [4]
