1543 "William Tulloch acquired a lease for the lands of 'Papa' and 'Papaguids' from Fru Inger [of Austrat, Norway] around 1543." "The Tulloch family, very probably descended from those Tullochs who had followed the bishops Thomas and William Tulloch north to Orkney in the previous century." "The main Tulloch stronghold in Shetland was in Northmaven where Andrew Tulloch was 'feud' in 1539." [1]
1558 Ursula and John Tulloch were named as the heirs of William Tulloch in a deed dated October 15, which also names William's widow Barbara Thomasdochter, his father Andrew, and his half-sister Margaret, and Ursula's husband Andrew Mowat. [2]
Deed of Agreement between Margaret Tullocht, half sister (by the same father) of the deceased William Tullocht of Skee, and her husband, Lowrence Schowaldsone of Awik, on the one part, and Barbara Thomasdochter, widow of the said William, Androu Mowett and his wife, Essilla Tullocht, one of the heirs of the said William, and the said Androu as tutor for Johne Tullocht, son and one of the other heirs of the said William, on the other part, by which they, the heirs of the said William, renounced and gave over to the said Margaret and her husband the 2 1/2 merk land in Howll in Sandvik, in the South parish of Yell, being her sister part of the land of her father, the deceased Androu Tullocht, which had been retained by the said deceased William, and not including her sister part of the land in which her mother, Elspee Tullocht, was liferented.
