A biosketch of father Thomas Page reports [1]:

Abner, the third son of Thomas Page, married a daughter of Levi Pigman, and settled on the Big Indian, a mile above Point Pleasant, where he died in 1827.

1822 An inventory of the estate of Levi Pigman, of Washington Twp, was presented in probate court, Clermont County, Ohio by Joshua Pigman and Elijah Larkin, administrators. The widow was mentioned, but was not named. Dated November 29. A list of debts, notes, and accounts named John Fasemire, Benjamin Penn, Jacob Tree, Isaiah B Barrett, Enoch Holland, Wright & Case, Thomas Ogdon, Amelia Truitt, Bezin Tiviz, John Tallor, William Sly, Ignatius P Prather, John Newkirk, Henry Miller, James Barkley, Elijah Penn, Allen Reed, Nathan Holland, Moses Larkin, William Winn (deceased), Zadok Tucker, George Trautwine, Amasa Owen, Fergus Moorhead, John McMakin, Lewis Cockrell, Thomas Ogden, Joseph Newkirk, William Redman, Stephen Tucker, Betsy Bagby, John Hunter, Thomas Ogden, Joshua Sargent, Andrew Campbell, Robert Robinson, John Newkirk, Sanford Triplett, George Newkirk, George Harvey, George Brunt, Reuben Thornley, James Sargent, Samuel Holland, and Nathan Holland. 1823 Mr. Abner Page and Miss Jane Pigman, both of Clermont County, Ohio, were married on November 13, by Samuel West, minister of the M.E.C. [3] [4] [5]

1826 Abner Page was listed as a landowner in Washington Twp, Clermont County, Ohio, on land previously owned by John Graham. [6] Abner Page was taxed for 2 horses and 2 cattle. [7]

1827 Abner Page was listed as a landowner in Washington Twp, Clermont County, Ohio, on land previously owned by John Graham. [8] Abner was taxed for 1 horse and 2 cattle. [9]

1827 Abner Page died in 1827. [10]

1828 Abner Page was taxed as a landowner on Indian Creek, Washington Twp, Clermont County, Ohio, on land previously owned by John Graham. [11] He was not listed with personal property. [12]

1829 Abner Page was taxed as a landowner in Washington Twp, Clermont County, Ohio, on land previously owned by John Graham. Brother John Page and several Pigman families were also listed. [13]

1829 John Page was appointed as guardian for Sarah Jane Page (aged 6), William Page (age 4), and Abner Page (age 2), children and heirs of Abner Page deceased. Jonathan Tompkins and John Boyce provided security. Dated in the October term of the Clermont County, Ohio common Pleas Court minutes. [14]

1829 The guardianship for son Abner Page was dated October 28, 1829. Book P.M 8-1447. [15]

1830 Abner Page was taxed in Washington Twp for lands previously owned by John Graham. [16]

1830 Jane Page (widow) of Washington Twp and John Buff of Franklin Twp were married in Clermont County, Ohio on January 5. [17] [18] [19]

1831 Thomas Page and wife Catherine of Clermont County sold 124 acres to Sarah Jane Page, William Page, and Abner Page, all heirs of Abner Page deceased. The land was in Washington Twp on Indian Creek. The deed was dated August 26, 1831. [20] [21]

1838 Abner Page was taxed as a landowner on Indian Creek, Washington Twp, Clermont County, Ohio, on land previously owned by John Graham. [22]

1850 John Buff (age 40, born in North Carolina) lived in Mississinawa Twp, Darke County, Ohio, in a household with Jane Buff (age 42), Harrison Buff (age 20), Nathaniel G Buff (age 18), Mary Ellen Buff (age 14), Benjamin F Buff (age 12), Geo W Buff (age 9), Malissa E Buff (age 4), and Martin Luther Buff (age 2). [23]

1850 John Buff was listed on the Agricultural census in Mississinawa, Darke County, Ohio. Nathan Carter, spouse of Sarah Jane Page, and David Light, who married cousin Sarah Jane Page, were listed on the prior page. [24] [25]

1853 The account of J Page, guardian of the heirs of A Page was settled with account showing a balance due of $5.25. [26]

1860 Jane C Buff (age 53, born in Kentucky) lived in Mississinawa Twp, Darke County, Ohio, in a household with John Buff (age 51), Benj Buff (age 19), George W Buff (age 16), Malissie Buff (age 14), Martin L Buff (age 12), and John Buff (age 9). [27]

1860 John Buff was listed on the Agricultural census in Mississinawa, Darke County, Ohio. [28]

1870 Jane C Buff (age 63, born in Maryland) lived in Gill Twp, Sullivan County, Indiana, in a household with John Buff (age 60), Josephine Buff (age 19), Jenney Page (age 12), Lydia M Buff (age 6), and Furis I Buff (age 3). [29] Son William B Page was listed nearby.

1875 Jane Buff died on February 23, at age 68y 14d and was buried at Center Ridge Cemetery, Sullivan, Sullivan County, Indiana. Her grave marker is shared with John Buff. [30] [31]

1878 Wm. B. Page and Ev A Buxton were married in 1878 in Moultrie County, Illinois. Wm. B. Page was a child of Abner Page and J. C. Pingman. (FHL film 001301713). [32]

1886 John Buff died on March 16, at age 76y 3m 4d and was buried at Center Ridge Cemetery, Sullivan, Sullivan County, Indiana. His grave marker is shared with Jane Buff. [33] [34]

1929 George Washington Buff, widowed, son of John Buff and Jane Pigman, spouse of Mariah Buff, died at age 85, on April 9, 1929 in Sullivan Twp, Sullivan County, Indiana. George Washington Buff was born on August 31, 1843 in Ohio. [35]

Research Notes:

The tax records for 1827-1829 name Abner Page, but records suggest that he was deceased, so the records may be for his widow, Jane Pigman Page. We seek clarification about these records.

1849 A map of Burlington County shows the home of "A Page" on the road northeast of Columbus, Mansfield Twp, Burlington County, near the homes of B Ivans and B Gibbs and R Starkey. [36]

1850 Abner Page (age 29) lived in Mansfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey in a household with Embley, Rebecca Starkey, and Rebecca Nixon. Benjamin Gibbs was listed on the same page. [37]

1812 The will of Joshua Pigman, father of Levi Pigman, named his heirs. [38]
