1360 John Wortley was under age.

1415 "John de Wortley, by letters dated 29 May 1415, commissioned to muster and array men at arms in the West Trithing (now corruptly called Riding) of the Co. of York ; and to employ them for the defence of the sea coasts, and elsewhere ; and also to place Bekyns in the usual places that notice may be given of the approach of the enemies, in case they should attempt to make a descent whilst the King was beyond the sea in his expedition against France." [1]

1424 John Wortley was alive.

1436 John Wortley dated his will on December 6. The will was proved September 3, 1437. He was to be buried in the church of Hemsworth, Nottingham, England.

Research Notes:

A Wortley pedigree, published by Hunter, reports that John Wortley, under age in 1360, was a son of Sir Nicholas de Wortley and Elizabeth de Wannerville and reports that John was the father of Nicholas Wortley, whose will was dated 1448. [2]

A Wortley pedigree, published by Foster, reports that John Wortley, under age in 1360, was a son of Sir Nicholas de Wortley and Katherine Lizours and that John married Elizabeth de la Hay and then married Jane Saville. This Foster pedigree reports that John and Elizabeth were the parents of Sir Nicholas Wortley, whose will was proved 22 January, 1448. [3]
