1347 Grant from William Fitzherbert to Thomas Acard of one selion and two butts of land in Foston. Witn. Ralph de Makeleye, etc. Dat. S. a. F. of SS. Peter and Paul [30 June], 20 Edw. III. [1347]. (Add. 4853-) [3]

1348 Quitclaim from William fil. et her. Roberti Schyret de Foston of all his right in all the lands and tenements which the said John had of the gift of Elizabeth Schyret. Witn. Will. Fitzherbert, etc. Dat. S. a. Ass. of B. V. M. [15 Aug.], 22 Edw. III. [1348]. (Add. 4854-) [4]

1377 "Sir William Fitzherbert, seventh lord of Norbury, paid half a mark in 1377 for procuring a confirmation charter of this free warren." [5]

1390 Nicholas de Longford and William Fitzherbert made an exchange of land. [6]

Deed whereby Nicholas de Longeford grants to William Fitzherbert of Northbury [Norbury] all his land "en le Milneholme" near Dovebrugpleos, between Ekkescroft and Theveholme, in exchange for the land called Alwaldesholme "del coulesue desques al ewe de Douue." 1395 Henry de Kniveton II [Cox suggests this second Henry de Kniveton was one of the sons of William de Kniveton, who was brother to the previous rector of Norbury, and to the vicar of Dovebridge.] was rector of Norbury church., deacon; patron, William Fitzherbert, 8th lord of Norbury. [7]

Research Notes:

William Fitzherbert of Norbury reportedly married Jane, daughter of Sir Nicholas Kniveton, knight of Murcaston, Derbyshire. They had son William Fitzherbert. [8] [9] [10] William Fitzherbert married second (dsp), daughter of Sir Alured Selny, of Newton Solney, Derbyshire [11].

1377 Burke reports that King Edward III confirmed William Fitzherbert of Norbury Freewarren in Norbury. [12]
