1484 "Quitclaim of John Lyly of Hanley, son and heir of Roger Lyly, to John Frechvyle of lands in Staveley, called Coldmuryan, late held by Thos. Lyly, grandfather of said John. Dat. 12 Oct., 2 Ric. III. [1484]." (Add. 40150.) [1]

1495 "Grant from William Hoggyes of Hynkersall, son and heir of Robert Hoggyes, and Alice his wife, to John Fretchvile, son and heir of Peter Fretchvile of Staveley, esq., of land in Staveley called Button Ryddyng (lying between a close of Robert Eyre on the west and a common near Flyster lane on the east, a wood called Estwode on the north, and woods belonging to John Rodys and Robert Eyre on the south), which he had inherited from the said Robert and Alice; with attorney to John Carter and Thomas Turnour to give seisin. Witn. Will. Lowkok, chaplain, John Bothe of Staveley, Richard Whithed of the same. Dat. Hynkersall, 5 Nov., 11 Hen. VII. [1495]- (Add. 40154)." [2]

1495 "Grant from the same William Hoggyes and Alice his wife to John Fretchville, sen., of land in Staveley. Witn. William Lowkok, chaplain, John Bothe of Staveley, and Richard Whithed. Dat. Hynkersell, Th. b. F. of St. Leonard, Bp. [6 Nov.], 11 Hen. VII. [1495] (Harl. 86 H. 27.)" [3]

1496 "Grant from Richard Ince of Spinkhull to John Frechevuyll of lands in Staveley in a place called Coldmurian (lying between Handley Wodde on the south, a common on the north, the Roder on the east, and a close belonging to Peter Frechvuyll on the west), inherited by him from his father, paying to Robert Linacre and his heirs 4s. yearly. Witn. Richard Whytehed of Staveley, Roger Turnour of the same, John Turnour of Wodthorpe, Christofer Rodd of Haghe, etc. Dat. Staveley, 3 May, 11 Hen. VII. [1496]. (Add. 40153.)" [4]

1503 June 22. "License of entry without proof of age for John Frechevyle [Frecheville], son and heir of Peter Frechevyle, esquire, deceased." [5]

1515 "Feoffment and counterpart from John Frechewell of Staley, esquire, to John Savage the younger, knt., John Leet, knt., Godfrey Fuliambe, Thomas Leek, esquires, George Lynacre, gent., and Elias Potter, of the manor of Nuthull [Nuthill in Burstwick, in Holderness, co. York], and lands in Nuthull and elsewhere in co. York, Stokholme, Incursell, Dronfeld, Horseley Stavely, Woodthorpe, and Netherthorpe, all in1 co. Derby, and Newton iuxta Falkyngham [co. Linc.], to the use of the said John Frechewell and Elizabeth his wife for their lives and for the execution of his will. With attorney to William Potter and Richard Smythe to give seisin. Dat. 22 Aug., 7 Hen. VIII. [1515]. (Add. 4o158, 40159.)" [6]
