1778 Apprentice "Samuel Barnardiston Howes" was indentured to master "Philip Slater Citizen and Apothecary of London" for "8 years from Date," on "5 April 1778" and the indenture was recorded on "Friday 5th June" [1]

Samuel Barnardiston Howes had a dairy farm in England. [2]

1806 Samuel Barnardiston Howes wrote his will on June 4. [3]

I Samuel Barnardiston Howes of Number twenty two Francis Street Newington in the County of Surry and of the Bank of England Gentleman do make this my last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say I Give Devise and bequeath all that my hoasehold messuage or Tenement with the appurts situate and beinge number twenty two in Francis Street Newington aforesaid in the said county of Surry in which I now reside unto my wife Elizabeth Howes her Executors adm'ors and assigns and I do also Give and bequeath unto my sadi wife Elizabeth Howes all my personal Estate and effects whatsoever or wheresoever and I do hereby nominate and appoint her my said wife sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all former will or wills by me heretofore made or executed and I do declare this to be my last will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Six. S. B. Howes above named Testator Samuel Barnardiston Howes as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us and of each of us who other have hereunto affixed our names as witnesses the word Estate at the fourteenth line having been first erases. E. Hoather(?) Cheque Office Bank of England Sarah Whitehouse Servant to Mr Howes.
This Will was proved at London the first day of July in the year or our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Six … the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Elizabeth Howes WIdow the releict of the deceased and the Sole Executrix named in the said will to whom Adm'on was granted ….
