1811 John Adams and Catherine Bence were married on May 11, at Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland. [1]

1820 John Adams (age 16-25) and female (age 26-44) lived in Woodberry Twp, Bedford County, Pennsylvania with a daughter (age 0-10). [2]

1825 John Adam, of Woodbury Twp, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, and wife Catharine sold land to William Adam Junior, for one dollar on March 25. The land had been inherited by William Adam from John Adam, both deceased. The 245 acres of land; adjacent to lands of Daniel Kinsinger, John Smith, Conrad Nicodemus, John Adam, and Benjamin Barrick, and by Tusseys? Mountain; was part of a tract warranted by Jacob Neterer on April 9, 1792 and February 28, 1776, and patented by John Adam on February 4, 1802 [3], whose will was recorded in Washington County, Maryland. John Adam bequeathed the patented land to William Adam, father of William Adam Junior. In a will recorded in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, William Adam bequeathed the land to William Adam Junior and John Adam, parties to the deed. On March 16, 1825, William Adam Junior and John Adam partitioned the land. [4] [5] William Adam Juior and wife Mary Ann, of Woodbury Twp, Bedford County, sold land to brother John Adam for one dollar on the same day. [6]

1830 John Adams lived in Woodbury Twp, Bedford County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (30 thru 39); and females: 1 (30 thru 39). [7]

1830 John Adam and wife Catherine, of Woodbury Twp, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, sold 31 acres of land to Henry Bechtel on March 24. The land was warranted by Jacob Neterer on February 28, 1776 and on April 9, 1792 and sold to John Adam on December 22, 1798 and was patented by him on February 4, 1802. The will of John Adam, dated June 30, 1807 in Washington County, Maryland, bequeathed the land to William Adam, father of William Adam Junior and John Adam died intestate. William Adam, whose will is recorded in Bedford County, bequeathed the land to William Adam Junior and John Adam. William Adam Junior and John Adam partitioned the land on March 10, 1825. William Adam Junior and wife Mary Ann? sold the land to John Adam on March 25, 1825. John Adam and Catharine, his wife, to Henry Bechtel. [8]

1832 John Adam and wife Catharine of Woodbury Twp, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, sold 2 acres of land to Peter Shoenberger of Pittsburgh on April 17. The land was part of the tract patented by Jacob Neterer. [9]

1840 John Adams lived in Boonsboro, Washington County, Maryland in a household with free white males: 2 (10 thru 14), 1 (15 thru 19), and 1 (60 thru 69); and free white females: 1 (10 thru 14), 2 (20 thru 29), and 1 (50 thru 59); and 1 slaves. Joel Newcomer was listed nearby. [10]

1843 John Adams died on March 4, 1843 at age 62y 3m 11d and was buried at Funkstown Cemetery, Funkstown, Washington County, Maryland. [11]

1843 Henry Adams and Joel Newcomer, administrators for John Adams, late of Washington County, Maryland, gave notice to the Orphans Court for the sale of his estate. [12]

1845 Joel Newcomer was appointed guardian for George Adams aged 21 years the 4th day of August 1846 and to Jacob Adams aged 17 years the 28th day of April 1846. [13]

1850 Cath Adams, age 61, born in Maryland, lived in District 1, Washington, Maryland, in a household with Elizabeth Adams (age 30), Caroline Adams (age 22), and Jacob R Adams (age 21). The families of Jacob Adams and George I Adams were in adjacent listings. [14]

1862 Catharine Adams, consort of John Adams, died on December 24, 1862 at age 73y 10m 23d and was buried at Funkstown Cemetery, Funkstown, Washington County, Maryland. [15]
