Notes for Jacob Ebersole and Barbara Good

Note: There were potentially four Jacob Ebersole families living in Donegal Twp, Lancaster County at the same time, so their notes might be incorrectly mixed together below. Father and son Jacob (1724-1785) with wife Frances Veronica and Jacob Ebersole (1756-1828) with wife Fronica Mellinger and father and son Jacob Ebersole (1715-1790) and Jacob (1753-?) with with Barbara Good were likely residents in 1785.

1790 Jacob Ebersole was named as a son-in-law and executor, with Jacob Gut, for the estate of Christian Gut of Donegal Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [1]

1796 Jacob Ebersole and wife Barbara of Donegal Twp, Lancaster County sold land to Jacob Berg of Donegal. The land was originally patented by Robert Buchanan in 1742. [2] Robert Buchanan and wife Jean sold the land to Christian Kauffman on 8 Aug 1746. Christian Kauffman and wife Barbara sold the land to Henry Henry on 15 August 1748. Henry Henry and wife Mary sold the land back to Christian Kauffman on 6 March 1749/50. Christian Kauffman and wife Barbara sold the land to Christian Stouffer on 7 March 1749/50. Christian Stouffer died and passed the land to sons Jacob and John Stouffer and widow Barbara Stouffer, who subsequently married Martin Nissley. Martin Nissley and wife Barbara sold the land to John Stouffer, son of Christian, deceased on 6 August 1768. John Stouffer and wife Elizabeth granted the land to Abraham Stouffer on 18 April 1772, as described in the last will and testament and in a Pennsylvania patent [3] Abraham Stouffer and wife Anna sold the land to Jacob Ebersole on 14 May 1774. The land was adjacent to land of Jacob Berg, Isaac Ream, late Samuel Bestner now Jacob Palmer, and Michael Gross. [4]
