Research Notes:
"Hans Kaufmann, the first child of Johannes and Anna (Eichelberger), was born 15 January 1643 in Steffisburg, Switzerland. At the age of 21 (on 24 February 1664), Hans married Katrina Arnold of Schiltach, Wurttemberg, Germany. Hans and Katrina lived in Schiltach, where he was engaged in transporting wood in the Black Forest. They had a family of 3 children: Hans Jacob, Andreas, and Johannes. Katrina Kaufmann died on 8 September 1673 at the age of 27 years, and Hans Kaufmann died on 14 February 1675 at the age of 32 years—they were married for 9 years. It is known that Katrina died in Steffisburg. Switzerland (it is suspected that this is where she is buried), and it was noted that Hans died while in the Netherlands—his burial location is in uncertain." [1]
