1860 George Wise (age 31, born in Ohio) lived in Mansfield Twp, Richland County, Ohio, in a household with Ellen Wise (age 25), Alice Wise (age 5), Chas Wise (age 3), Robert Wise (age 36?), and Jacob Wise (age 57, carpenter). [1]

1866 G.C. Wise, Clapp, and McKee were in a court case involving Perry Flaharty. [2]

1868 Ellen Wise (wife of George C Wise) confessed her faith and was a member of the Congregational Church in Mansfield, Ohio. [3]

1870 George Wise (age 39, born in Ohio) lived in Mansfield Ward 3, Richland County, Ohio, in a household with Ellen M Wise (age 36), Alice C Wise (age 15), Charles E Wise (age 13), Lily E Wise (age 7), Nettie B Wise (age 5), Harrie C Wise (age 3), and Frederick Wise (age 37, grocer). George Wise's occupation was grocer. [4]

1873 H.C. Wise, age 6, died on February 1, in Mansfield, Ohio. [5]

1874 George C Wise confessed his faith and was a member of the Congregational Church in Mansfield, Ohio. [6]

1880 Geo. C. Wise (age 51, born in Ohio, married) lived in Mansfield Twp, Richland County, Ohio, in a household with Ellen M. Wise (age 45), Lilley E. Wise (age 17), and Netty B. Wise (age 16). Geo. C. Wise's parents were both born in Pennsylvania. Geo. C. Wise's occupation was grocer. [7]

c 1882 George C Wise was trustee of the Congregational Church in Mansfield, Ohio. [8]

1888 "On Monday morning Napoleon B. Wise, bachelor and aged about 52 years, was found dead in bed, at his room on East Third Street. He was a victim of consumption. His funeral occurred on Tuesday afternoon from the residence of Geo. C. Wise, on East Fourth Street, Rev. J.W. Hubbell officiating. The remains were interred under the auspices of the G.A.R." [9]

1890 George C Wise and wife sold, to Daniel W. Wilson, lots 89 and 117 in Hoffer Add. for $1. [10]

1890 George C Wise was named as a Mansfield resident who was a resident 50 years prior. [11]

1900 George C Wise (born in Ohio in Oct 1828, widowed) lived in Mansfield Ward 8, Richland County, Ohio, in a household with Lilian E Wise (age 37). George C Wise's parents were both born in Pennsylvania. George C Wise's occupation was grocer. [12]

1921 Son Charles E Wise, widowed, child of George C. Wise and Ellen M. Clapp, spouse of Lena Wise, died on January 15, 1921, at age 63, in Mansfield Twp, Richland County, Ohio. Charles E Wise was born on June 20, 1857, in LaPort County, Indiana. Charles E Wise's occupation was Night Watchman. [13]

1934 Daughter Lillian E Wise, single, child of George C Wise and Ellen Clapp, died on December 31, 1934, at age 71, in Mansfield Twp, Richland County, Ohio. Lillian E Wise was born on January 1, 1863, in Mansfield County, Ohio. Lillian E Wise had lived at Mansfield County, Ohio. [14]

1935 Daughter Alice Wise Gadsby, widowed, child of George Wise and Ellen Clapp, spouse of Frank Dodd Gadsby, died on June 1, 1935, at age 79, in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. Alice Wise Gadsby was born on December 3, 1855, in Mansfield County, Ohio. Alice Wise Gadsby had lived at Shelby County, Ohio. [15]

A biosketch of the parents of Ellen Clapp reported [16]:

Emelius and Lydia Hutchinson Clapp are the parents of four children, one son and three daughters ; James Birney died in Elyria, aged 5 years; Francis H. died in infancy ; two daughters are now living — Ellen Mariette (wife of Mr. G. C. Wise), of this city, and Mary Paulina (wife of Joseph H. McKee),of Grand Rapids, Mich. Mrs. Lydia Clapp died in Mansfield Feb. 20, 1870; his present wife was Miss Carrie Beardsley, of Garrettsville, Portage Co., whom he married May 30, 1872.
