Notes for Johann Michael Schmalzried and Maria Elisabetha Haag

1763 Johann Michael Schmalzried and Maria Elisabetha were married on July 12 in Leutenbach. Johann Michael was the son of "David Schmalzried, bauer in Leutenbach," and of "Maria geb. Schafer von da." The Leutenbach Familianbuch states that Maria Elisabetha was the daughter of "Johann Ludwig Hag, Steinhauer in Leutenbach," and of "Elisabetha geb. Spingler von da." [1] The Leutenbach Familienbuch follows the death record of Maria Elizabetha geb. Haag in stating that her mother's maiden name was Spingler, but the birth records of Maria Elizabetha and her siblings and the marriage record of her parents state that her mother's maiden name was Majer.

1765 Anna Dorothea, daughter of Michael Schmalzried of Leutenbach and "Elisabetha, geb. Haagin," was baptized on January 20. Her sponsors were Joh. Mich. Hieber and Anna Dorothea Haagin. [2]

1767 Johann Michäel, son of Johann Michäel Schmalzried of Leutenbach and his wife "Elisabetha, geb. Haagin," was baptized on October 31. His sponsors were Johann Michäel Heber and Dorothea Haagin. [3]

1771 Christoph Ludwig, son of Johann Michäel Schmalzried of Leutenbach and his wife "Maria Catherina [sic], geb. Haagin," was baptized on September 7. His sponsors were Johann Michäel Hieber and Dorothea Glockin. [4]

1773 Matthaus, son of Michäel Schmalzried of Leutenbach and his wife "Maria Elizabetha, geb. Haagin," was baptized on August 7. His sponsors were Johann Michäel Hieber and Anna Dorothea Glockin. [5]

1776 Johann Jacob, son of Johann Michael Schmalzried of Leutenbach and "Maria Elisabetha, geb. Haagin," was baptized on November 19. His sponsors were Johann Michael Hieber and Dorothea Glockin. [6]

1782 Dorothea, daughter of "Michaël Schmalzried, Stricker," and "Elisabetha, geb. Haagin," was born on March 12 in Leutembach, Württemberg, and baptized on March 13. Her sponsors were "Michaël Heiber, Heiligenzfleger" and "Dorothea Glockin."[7] [8]

1784 "Alt Johann Michael Schmalzried, burger und Striker in Leutenbach," died on January 19. [9]

1812 "Maria Elisabeth geb. Haagin" died in Leutenbach on February 1 "am Samstag Vormittag um 10. Uhr" and was burried in Winnenden on February 3 "am Monntag Vormittag um halb 11. Uhr." She was the daughter of Johann Ludwig Hag "Burger u. Steinhauer in Leutenbach" and "Elisbeth, geb. Spinglerin" and the widow of Johann Michael Schmalzried "Burger u. Striker in Leutenbach." Her age was "71. Jahr. 1. Mon. 6. Tag." [10] The maiden name of Maria Elisabeth's mother appears to be stated incorrectly in this death record. In her birth record, the birth records of her siblings, and the marriage record of her parents, Maria Elisabeth's mother's maiden name is stated as Majer.
