1724 Henry Brotherton, son of Henry and Ann Brotherton, was born on 16 of month 3 (May), 1724. His birth was attended by Sarah Hewitt, Grace Kinsey, Elizabeth Shotwell, and Susanna Burwell. [1]

1752 On 21 of 8 month, Henry Brotherton, of the Borough of Elizabeth, Morris County, and Mercy Schooley, of Morris County, were married at Woodbridge Meeting [2]. A marriage was also reported for Henry Brotherton and Mase Schooley on 25 of month 8, 1752 [3] [4]. Henry Brotherton married the eldest daughter of William Schooley [5] [6].

1753-1761 The births of 5 children of Henry and Mercy Brotherton were recorded in records of Woodbridge, Rahway & Plainfield Meetings. [7] [8]

1754 On 28 of month 2, Elizabeth Schooley, of Mendham, and Richard Dell, of Morris County, were married at Mendham. Witnessed by Mercy Brotherton and others. [9]

1754 On 27 of month 6, James Brotherton and Alice Schooley were married at Mendham. Witnessed by Mercy and Henry Brotherton and others. [10]

1760 On 27 November, William Schooley Jr and Elizabeth Dell, were married in Woodbridge, New Jersey. Witnessed by Henry and Mercy Brotherton and others. [11]

1760 On 27 of month 11, Jacob Bonnell and Mary Schooley both of Mendham, were married at Mendham, Morris County. Witnessed by Henry and Mercy Brotherton and others. [12]

1773 The will of Henry Brotherton was recorded in Mendham Twp, Morris County, New Jersey, dated 13 October, 1773, proved 6 May, 1774. [13]:

1773, Oct. 13. Brotherton, Henry, of Mendham, Morris Co.; will of. Sister, Elizabeth More, £60, if she demands it. Sister, Grace More, £30, if she demands it. Wife, Mercy, the use of the house and land to the north side of the road, and the other part to be sold. If my wife marry before my daughter, Mercy, is 18, then all lands to be sold, and the interest of the money to be used to support and educate my children, and, when Mercy is 18, then all to be divided among the children. Executors — brother, James Brotherton, and Richard Dell. Witnesses — Randal Dell, William Logan, John Wallis. Proved May 6, 1774. Lib. L, p. 189.

1794 The will of Henry Brotherton Jr was recorded in Mendham Twp, Morris County, New Jersey, dated 26 of month 3, 1794, proved 3 of month 4, 1794. [14]:

1794, 3rd mo. 26. Brotherton, Henry, Jr., of Mendham Twsp., Morris Co.; will of. Sister, Grace Brotherton, £15. Sister, Sarah Brotherton, £10. Youngest sister, Mercy Brotherton, £10. Nephew, Charles Nicols (son of sister Mary Nicols), £10. Brother, William Brotherton, clothes. Brother-in-law, Benjamin Nicols, £20. Nephew, Henry Crane (son of sister Elizabeth), £5. Nephew, Henry Bonnel (son of sister Ann Bonnel), £5. Residue to mother (not named). Executor — brother-in-law, Benjamin Nicols. Witnesses — Hartshorne Fitz Randolph, Thomas Dell, Anna Fitz Randolph and Henry Bonnel. Proved Jan. 27, 1795. Lib. 36, p. 88

1810 The will of Mercy Brotherton was recorded in Randolph Twp, Morris County, New Jersey, dated December 7, 1810, proved 12 Jan, 1812. [15]:

1810, Dec. 7. Brotherton, Mercy, of Randolph Twsp., Morris Co.; will of. My ninth part of the farm that was left to me by my son, Henry, to be sold and proceeds put at interest for my grandson, Henry, he to have entire sum, principal and interest, when he comes to age. Rest of property to be sold and money divided equally between my surviving children [unnamed]. Executor—Thomas Dell. Witnesses—Simeon Bonnell, Joseph Moore, Calvin C. Lawrence. Proved Jan. 12, 1812.

1810, Dec. 29. Inventory, $120.00; made by Thomas Brotherton, John Powers, Jr. File 1437 N. Signed by mark.
