[26] [27] The estate was split among the four daughters of deceased son Jacob Mellinger: Magdalena, Elizabeth, Susanna, and Anna. Jacob Mellinger's wife Susannah was referenced as Susanna Mellinger, not Susanna Bordner, although she had remarried by then. Barbara Mohler was to receive a striped coat for good service she has done to me during my sickness. [28] [29] [30]

Research Notes:

We suspect that David Mellinger of Ruchheim, Germany was the same as David Mellinger, who emigrated to America on the Louisa in 1752, and as David Mellinger, whose widow named deceased son Jacob Mellinger in her will in Cocalico Twp. No records of David Mellinger or their children have been found in the Ruchheim records after 1751. We seek further evidence to clarify these potential relationships.

Mennonite records list David Mellinger, born Jan 3, 1717 [presumably the one baptized at Rucheim], as the same David Mellinger who died in 1815 in Manor Twp, Lancaster County. [37] We suspect that the Mennonite record is incorrect.

1739 The baptism of John Jacob named mother Anna Madlena. There were no other baptisms listed in this time period with father David, other than those with mother Cathrina Magdalena. We suspect that the name of the mother was a variant or an error.
