William Dungan, son of William and Deborah (Wing) Dungan, was born circa 1692 and died 1771, in Warminster Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He married first; circa 1716, Mary Keirll, daughter of Thomas Keirll, of Makefield Township, Bucks County, Pa. married second: Katherine. [1]
1720 Joseph Keirl [Keirll], of Staten Island, County of Richmond, N. Y. mariner, eldest son and heir at law of Thomas Keirll, late of Maxfield (Makefield) Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Yeoman, deceased; John Keirll, of Maxfield, the other son of said Thomas; Paul Wilmerton, of the City of Philadelphia, Cordwainer and Katherine his wife; Alexander Rickey, of Oxford Township, Co. of Philadelphia, and Ann, his wife; William Dungan, of Bristol Township, County of Bucks, Yeoman, and Mary his wife. They the said Katherine, Ann and Mary being the daughters of the said Thomas Keirll, conveyed a lot between 2nd and 3rd Streets, facing on Walnut St., 54 ft. wide, to Peter Worrell. Dated June 24. 1764 Mary Keirl Dungan was named as Mary Dungan in the will of her brother, John Keirll, 24 Aug 1764. [4]
Referring to the distribution of the estate of John Keirll, in the records of the Orphans' Court of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, the children of Mary Dungan were named as follows: William, John, Jeremiah and Joshua Dungan; Anna Stephens, Elizabeth Hill and Mary Shaw. As these children are named with several others in the will of William Dungan, who names his wife Catherine, we suspect that William Dungan was married twice, and had children by both wives. [5]
