1488/89 Margaret Clifford, wife of Alexander, died on January 19 and was buried in Bobbing, Kent, England. The inscription on the tombstone of Alexander Clifford and his wife Margaret was recorded as "Orate specialiter .... Alexandri Clifford Ar. et Margarete, vxoris eius .... obijt --- die---An. 1400. et Margareta obijt 19 Ian. 1488." in the section Bobbing "within the Diocesse of Canterbury." The author notes, "This Alexander, as appeares by the pedigree, was the sonne of Sir Lewis Clifford knight, and this Margaret his wife the daughter of Walter Culpeper." (The date 1400 for Alexander cannot be correct.) [1]
