Notes for William Hoffman and Kathrina

1753 On 6 August, William Houffman warranted 100 acres in Paradise Twp, York County, Pennsylvania, adjacent to land of George Henry Joseph [1]. The land was surveyed 2 January 1766 by George Henry Joseph [2] [3]. Peter Wolf patented the land, called "Garden of Eden" on 6 April 1789. [4]

1761 On May 30, Henry Hoffman, son, and Anna Kathrina Hoffman, widow, of William Hoffman, of Paradise Twp, York County, deceased, sold land to George Henry Joseph. The land was adjacent to lands surveyed for John Smith and John Morningstar. The land had been warranted by William Hoffman on 6 August 1753. William Hoffman had willed the land to son Henry on 29 September, last (1760)[Will not found in York will index or in book A]. [5]

1762 On 3 September, Katherine Hoffman and Henry Hoffman, administrators of the estate of William Hoffman, deceased, produced the account of the etate, with balance £482.10.7, to the Orphans Court. The estate was distributed to the widow, Henry the oldest son, daughter Anna Maria or her guardian, son Johannes, daughter Christina, son Jacob, daughter Maria Magdalena, son John Ebert, son Michael, daughter Anna Elizabeth, [6]

1763 On 2 January, a survey was made for George Henry Joseph of 209 acres of land in Paradise Twp, for land warranted by Wm Houffman in 1753. Adjacent landowners were Peter Dicks, Thomas Wilson, and heirs of Philip Hittzel. [7] [8]

1772 A survey of the tract in Paradise Twp was made, showing lands of George Henry Joseph and of Peter Wolf in right of Philip Morningstar. [9]

1763 On 9 September, John Hoffman, administrator and oldest son of John Hoffman, deceased, presented the account of the estate to the York County Orphans Court. The recipients were Mary Elizabeth Hoffman, widow, deceased, Juliana and William Becker, Henry Hoffman, Elizabeth Hoffman, Catherina, Mary, and Margaret Hoffman, or their guardians. Michael Hahn was appointed guardian for Margaret, age six. [10]
