1752 The heirs of John Jacob Snevely sold land to Benjamin Landus and his wife Ann, all of Lancaster County, on March 23. This deed is relevant to the 1783 transaction below. The heirs were John Jacob Snevely of Cumberland county, Andrew Hersey and wife Mary, John Long and wife Ann, and Jacob Koffman and wife Eve. Ann Landus was sister of John Snevely the younger deceased who was son of John Snevely deceased, who was also son of John Jacob Snevely deceased. The 276 acres of land by Conestogoe creek had been patented by John Jacob Snevely deceased on October 4, 1735 by patent A7-328. It was next to land of Jacob Funk and John Snevely. John Jacob Snevely deceased gave the tract to son John Jacob Snevely, perty to this deed, who sold it to his brother John Snevely deceased who died intestate with heirs John Snevely the younger and Ann wife of Benjamin Landus. The deed could not be found. The other heirs sold the land to Benjamin Landus and wife Ann for 5 shillings. Witnessed (all in German) by Woolrick Road (Ulrick Roth), Abra Myer, Henry Wagner, Christophle Franciskus. The witnesses attested on 24 December 1753 to seeing the parties agree to deed. [1]

1762 The heirs of Christian Hersha of Manheim Twp, Lancaster County sold land, in November, to Benjamin Hershey, a son. The heirs named were Christian Hersha and wife Barbara, Abraham Hersha and wife Elizabeth, Peter Reeshar, Samuel Heir and wife Anna, Abram Neff and wife Mary, David Heir and wife Barbara, Henry Heir and wife Hester, Jacob Erisman and wife Addah. The 301 acres of land in Manheim Twp had been patented on May 15, 1735 by Jacob Funk by patent A7-176. Jacob Funk and wife Fronica sold the land on 4 June 1735 to John Snabley by Philadelphia deed F8-249. John Snabley sold the land, escept for 4 acres, on May 4, 1743 to Christian Hersha. The land was next to land of Melchor Snyder, Jacob Meily, Henry Landes, and John Snabley now Benjamin Landes. Christian died and left three sons and six daughters, named as shwn in this file. Witnessed by James Bickam and Wilton Atkinson. Most of the parties appeared on 30 October 1765. [2]

1772 Benjamin Hershey of Manheim Twp, Lancaster County, and his wife Catharine, daughter of Henry Landis, sold land to Jacob Steifs of Warwick Twp. [3] The land had originally been patented to Henry Landis. [4]

1783 Benamin Hershee and wife Barbara sold land, on May 12, to Benjamin Landis, all of Manheim Twp. The land had been purchased by Christian Hershy from John Snabley on May 4, 1743. Christian died leaving sons Christian, Abram, and Benjamin and daughters Elizabeth wife of Peter Reeshar, Anne wife of Samuel Heir, Mary wife of Abraham Neff, Barbara wife of David Heir, Hester wife of Henry Heir, and Adah wife of Jacob Erisman. In November 1762 the other heirs had sold their portions to Benjamin Hershee by deed Z-121. [5]

1783 Benamin Landis and wife Anna sold land, on May 12, to Benjamin Hershee, all of Manheim Twp, which was part of the March 23 sale to Benjamin Landis, Lancaster deed D-72. [6] [7]

1783 Benjamin Hershee and wife Catharine of Manheim sold land, to Andrew Hershee, on May 12.The land was part of a tract sold to Benjamin in 1762. [8]

1784 Benjamin Hershee and wife Catharine, of Manheim Twp sold two parcels to Samuel Myers, on May 1. One parcel was part of the November, 1762 purchase and the other was part of the March 23, 1752 inheritance. [9] [10] [11]
