1820 Samuel Males lived in Parker Twp, Butler County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (26 thru 44) and 2 (45 and over); and females: 1 (16 thru 25) and 2 (45 and over). [1]

1830 Samuel Meals, age 40-50, and female, age 30-40, lived in Parker Twp, Butler County, Pennsylvania with 4 male and 3 female children. Susanna Hoover, age 50-60, was listed adjacent. [2]

1840 Samuel Mailes, age 60-70, and female, age 60-70, lived in Parker Twp, Butler County, Pennsylvania with a female age 40-50, and 5 male and 2 female young people. Jacob Hoover, age 40-50, was listed nearby. [3]

1849 Samuel Meals, Elizabeth Meals, Jacob Meals, George Meals, and Elizabeth Meals were organizing members of the North Washington church in Butler County, Pennsylvania. [4]

1850 Samuel Meals, age 71, and Elizabeth Meals, age 56, lived in Washington Twp, Butler County, Pennsylvania with Christopher (age 28), Mary A (age 22) and Samuel (age 22), blacksmith. [5]

1860 Samuel Meals, blacksmith, died in May of pleurisy at age 79 in Pennsylvania. [6]

1860 On June 28, at the Butler County Orphans Court, Jacob Daubenspeck, administrator of the estate of Samuel Meals, deceased, made a distribution of goods to widow Elisabeth Meals. [7]

1863 In the June term, at the Butler County Orphans Court, Jacob Daubenspeck, administrator of the estate of Samuel Meals, late of Washington Twp, deceased, gave an account with balance $16.41. [8]

1863 In the December term, at the Butler County Orphans Court, Jacob Daubenspeck, administrator of the estate of Samuel Meals, late of Washington Twp, deceased, petitioned for a partition of real estate. Samuel had died leaving a widow Elisabeth Meals and children Jacob Meals living near Oil City in Venango County, William Meals living in the state of Missouri, Daniel Meals living in Washington Township, Butler Co; Mary intermarried with Thomas Campbell living in Washington Township, Butler Co; Christopher Meals living in Washington Township, Butler Co; Samuel Meals living in Venango Township, Butler Co; Margaret intermarried with William Grant living in Allegheny Township, Butler Co; and children of Nancy now dead who was intermarried with Elisha Hilliard living in the state of Missouri. [9]

1864 A newspaper notice about the partition announced that the heirs of Samuel Meals (as named in the 1863 Orphan's Court record) should appear at an Orphan's Court at Butler on September 26, to accept or refuse the appraisal and partition of the real estate of Samuel Meals, late of Washington township. [10]
