Notes for Clayton H Page and Margaretta Tucker

1840 "At Tuckerton [Ocean County, New Jersey] on January 5, 1840, by the Rev. Mr. Gearhart, Mr. Clayton H. Page to Miss Margaretta B. Tucker, daughter of the late R. D. Tucker, Esq., all of Tuckerton, NJ." [1]

1844 On 11 April, "Clayton H. Page has just received a handsome assortment of New and Fashionable Spring and Summer Goods, consisting of splendid Balzorinesm Lace LAwns, French and English Single Milled Fancy Casimeres, Silk and satin Vestings, Sun Shades, etc. which will be disposed of at a small advance. Mount Holly." [2]

1844 On May 30, "C. H. Page having taken the Store lately occupied by Joseph C. Clark, begs leave to inform the public, that he intends keeping a general assortment of groceries, dry goods, trimmings, fancy articles, queensware, etc. Mount Holly." [3]

1845 "At Medford, on August 21, 1845, Clayton H. Page, in the 32d year of his age, leaving an afflicted widow and two little orphan children. Mr. Page recently resided in Mount Holly and was for several years Collector of Revenue for the District of Little Egg Harbor. He was highly esteemed for his friendly and sociable disposition, his stern integrity, and exemplary moral character." [4] [5]

1845 Widow Margaretta B Page renounced the right of administration of the estate of Clayton H Page, who died intestate, in favor of John R Slack, on August 28. Witnessed by Agnes Page. John R Slack, James Logan, and James Rogers posted bond on 29 August. [6]

1846 John Slack reported to the Burlington Orphans' Court, on February 23, that the estate was insufficient to pay the debts of the deceased. The account reported cash received from John Lippincott, James Copp? and George Kaighn, the executors of Dr William Page, deceased due to Clayton H Page. There were outstanding debts due to Agnes & Sarah Page and to Dr Thomas Page, among others. [7]

1850 Margaret Page (age 30) lived with children Anna (age 6) and Clayton (age 4) in the household of Elizabeth Tucker (age 59) in Mount Holly, Burlington County, New Jersey. [8]
