Research Notes:

A descendant reports: "they had a son Benjamin Jr who, along with Ann Carpenter received a marriage license dated June 24, 1764 (no marriage record found) ... Other sources say Ann was Benjamin Jr's first wife and Mehitable Jackson was his second wife ... Benjamin Jr. was [perhaps] the father of ... Benjamin W. Whitehead, born 1770, Long Island who emigrated to Ontario, Canada about 1810 ... [there is] a cemetery stone in Ever Green Cemetery in New York for Ann, wife of Benjamin Whitehead, d.1770." [8]

A descendant reports "my 4th great grandfather Benjamin W Whitehead's parents … were Benjamin Whitehead (1735-1816) son of Capt. Benjamin Whitehead (1705-1780) and Elizabeth Willett and was born Long Island, Queens, New York, and who married Mehitable (Mabel) Jackson in Conn. in 1766.", as suggested by DNA evidence.
