Notes for Charles French and Sybilla Stokes

1753 On 25 October, Charles French was born in Waterford Twp, Gloucester County, New Jersey. [1]

1757 On 6 December, Sabilla Stokes was born. [2]

1783 On May 29, Sabella Stoaks [Stokes], daughter of Joseph Stokes and Atlantic Bispham, married Charles French at Christ Church, Philadelphia. [3] [4] [5]

1786 On May 16, the account of Joseph Stokes, late of Evesham, Burlington County, New Jersey, was prepared by Joseph Stokes, Joseph Roberts, executors. Debts were due to or, perhaps, from, Samuel Stokes and Sebilla Stokes, among others. Payments were made to Sebilla Stokes (item 17), Sabilla French [crossed out](item 39) and Atlantica Hooten (item 41), among others. [6]

1788 On 19 February, Joshua Stokes, of Evesham Twp, Burlington County, son of Joseph and Atlantic Stokes, married Deborah Hooton. Witnessed by Charles French and many others. [7]

1796 Sybilla [Sabillah], wife of Charles French, was named in the will of her grandmother Anna Stokes. [8]

1799 Joshua Stokes, son of Joseph and Atlantica Stokes, and Rebecca Matlack were married at the Evesham meeting, Burlington County, on 21 of fifth month, 1799. Witnessed by Sybilla French and Charles French, and others. [9]

1806 On July 28, Charles French and John Matlack made the inventory for the estate of Isaac Hooton, of Evesham Twp. Thomas Hooton was administrator. [10]

1834 On 6 April, Charles Stokes, of Moorestown, died at age 80 and was buried at Trinity P. E. churchyard, Moorestown, New Jersey. [11] [12] [13]

1845 On 4 November, Sabilla Stokes died and was buried at Trinity P. E. churchyard, Moorestown, New Jersey. [14]
