Notes for Robert Huggett and Sarah

1714/15 Robert Huggett, son of Robert and Sarah Huggett, was baptized on February 1 at St. Peter, Thanet, Kent, England. [1]

1767 Robert Hugget of St Peter in Thanet, Kent, dated his will on June 11 and added a codicil on October 12. He named his daughter Sarah, wife of George Covell the younger, his daughter Susanna, wife of Edward Pierce, and his daughter Mary Huggett (under age 21), his wife Sarah, and his sons, Thomas, John, Roger, and Robert. He appointed his wife, his brother John Huggett, and his son Thomas as his executors. The witnesses were John Cook, Lawrence Kenney, and John Hogg. The will was proved on February 5, 1768, in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury. [2]

1768 Robert Huggett died on January 9 and was buried at St Peter, Thanet, Kent, England, where the inscription on his grave marker was reported as, "Here lieth interred the body of Robert Huggett of Stone, in this parish, son of the above mentioned Robert and Sarah Huggett, who died on the 9th day of January, 1763, aged 53 years." [The year is likely a transcription error and should be 1768.] [3]
