Property: The manors of Kedyngton' and Bernardeston' and the advowsons of the churches of Kedyngton' and Bernardeston' in the county of Suffolk and 1 messuage, 200 acres of land, 20 acres of meadow, 20 acres of pasture and 5 marks of rent in Dagenham and Berkyng' in the county of Essex and 1 messuage, 300 acres of land, 20 acres of meadow and 10 marks of rent in Whetele, Dancastre and Baldirton' in the county of York.
Action: Plea of covenant.
Agreement: Roger has acknowledged the manors, tenements and advowsons to be the right of Robert, and has rendered the manor of Bernardeston', the tenements and the advowsons to Robert, Thomas, William and John in the court, to hold to Thomas, William, Robert and John and the heirs of Robert, of the chief lords for ever. And besides Roger granted for himself and his heirs that the manor of Kedyngton' - which William Ingham and Margery, his wife, held for the life of Margery of the inheritance of Roger on the day the agreement was made, and which after the decease of Margery ought to revert to Roger and his heirs - after the decease of Margery shall remain to Thomas, William Kelke, Robert and John and the heirs of Robert, to hold together with the aforesaid manor, tenements and advowsons of the chief lords for ever.

1406/07 On January 20, Roger Barnardiston witnessed a deed, [3]

John Daunesley knight, William de Kelke of Bernetby, Richard Welvin of Croxton, John Bayous of Burgh upon Boyne and Thomas Mareys of Grymesby to William Frank knight and Alice his wife and to the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to the right heirs of William Frank. Charter indented of the manor of 'Southsomercotes' with all lands, rents, reversions and services of freeholders and neifs, the neifs and all that goes with them in the towns and parishes of 'Southsomercotes' and 'Northsomercotes,' and all other lands etc. there which the grantors have at this date, all which they had by feoffment of the said William Frank. Witnesses: William de Belesby, Thomas Hauley, Richard Haunserd knights, Roger de Bernston, Nicholas Tournay esquires, Thomas Hayton of Somercotes, William Suarry, Thomas Hauley, both of the same. Dated 'Southsomercotes,' 20 January 8 Henry IV. Memorandum of acknowledgment by John Bayous at Thornton abbey 17 August this year [1421] before the abbot of Thornton, by virtue of a dedimus potestatem which is on the chancery file for this year.

Property: 10 messuages, 10 tofts, 26 bovates of land, 60 acres of meadow, 70 shillings of rent and a rent of 2 pounds of pepper and 1 pound of cumin in Thorp' by Bekeby.
Action: Plea of covenant.
Agreement: George and Elizabeth have acknowledged the tenements and rents to be the right of William Tirwhit, as those which the same William, William Kelk, Nicholas, Roger and Thomas have of their gift, and have remised and quitclaimed them from themselves and the heirs of Elizabeth to William, Nicholas, Roger, William and Thomas and the heirs of William Tirwhit for ever.

1411 In the November 1411 settlement following a loveday confrontation between William Lord Roos and Robert Tirwhit, justice of the King's Bench, and his men, it was ordered that [6]

Furthermore, the aforesaid Lord Roos, in the presence of those present, shall publicly forgive the aforesaid Robert and all the others in the abovesaid party who were assembled at the loveday and who came with the same said Robert, for all their crimes and trespasses; except only four persons, that is to say, Richard Haunsard, knight, William Kelk, Roger Berneston, and Roger Kelk, the son of the aforesaid William; which four persons we ordain that the same Robert shall bring at the direction of the aforesaid Lord Roos to his own castle, the castle of Belvoir, into his presence; so that they too can acknowledge their offence and submit themselves to the same Lord Roos, praying him for grace and mercy.

1441-42 Roger de Barnardiston of Grimsby co. Lincoln, died about 20 Henry VI (Aug 1441-Aug 1442). Said to be buried at Great Cotes. [11]

1448 Margaret Tyggenstok sued William Barnardeston, of Kedyngton, Suffolk, gentleman, and Elizabeth Barnardeston, widow of Roger Barnardeston of Grymesby, Lincolnshire, executors of Roger Barnardeston, in the Court of Common Pleas in Hilary term in London concerning a debt. [12]

Roger Barnardiston married Isabella Kelke, daughter of William Kelke of Barnetby. [13]

Isabel has been reported to be the relict, rather than a daughter, of William Kelke of Beverley. [14]

"At Great Coates, Lincolnshire, on the brass of Sir Thos. Barnardiston and lady, 1503, is a similar grant of pardon:--of yo' charite say a p'r noster auc & cred & ye shall have a C days of p'don to yor med." [16]
