c 1724 John Curtis, son of David Curtis, married about 1724, Rebecca Herbert, daughter of Walter Herbert by his second wife Sarah Tilton, of Shrewsbury, born in Middletown, 1 mo., 6, 1704/5. [1] [2]

1760 John Curtis, of Manasquan, Shrewsbury Twp, Monmouth County, farmer dated his will 18 December. Eldest son, David, 1/2 of my rights on Manasquan Beach. Daughter, Sarah, 5 shillings. Son, John, 5 shillings. Daughter, Rebeckah, 5 shillings. Son, Peter, a gun. Daughter, Rachel, a bed. Rest of personal and real to be sold, and 1/3 part I give to my wife, Mary, and the rest to my 4 children, Jonathan, Meribah, Thomas, and Anne. Executors—my wife and my brother, David Curtis. Witnesses—Thomas Rouze, Moses Havens, James Lawrence. Proved May 1, 1761. [3]
