Research Notes:

1784 On 5 January, John Aronson Woolman and Leah Scott stated their intentions to marry at the Burlington monthly meeting. Their mothers consented. [1]

1784 Leah Scott, daughter of Abraham of Burlington County, and John Aronson Woolman, son of Abner Woolman deceased yeoman of Burlington County, were married on February 19 at Burlington Meeting. [2] [3] [4] [5]

1817 The will of Bethuel Scott of Mansfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey was dated March 13 and proved April 21. Named were mother Patience Scott, brother Thomas, sisters Elizabeth Wharton, Grace Talbert, Leah Woolman and several nieces and nephews. John A Woolman was named executor. [6]

1786-1803 The children of John Aronson Woolman and Leah Woolman were named. Leah was named as the daughter ot Abraham and Ann Scott. [7] [8]

1837 Leah Woolman (wife of Jn A. W.) died on 28th day of month 8 at Burlington County, New Jersey. [9]

1839 John A Woolman of Mansfield Twp, Burlington County, dated his will on May 28. The will named son Abraham S Woolman and neighbor Caleb Hancock concerning land purchased from son Uriah Woolman. Abraham Woolman and Caleb Hancock were to use the proceds from the land to support the wife and children of Uriah. Daughter Ann Woolman and friend Caleb Hancock inherited the land that John had purchased from Abraham Brown and Joseph Richardson and part of a cedar swamp adjoining Samuel Woolman. The land was to be held in trust to help son Abraham S Woolman and his wife Julian or children in time of need. Son Asher inherited land on the Ohio River (section 36, township 18, range 5). The will named grandson John A Woolman son of Abraham who inherited a desk, grandson Richard A Woolman inherited a silver watch, daughter Ann Woolman inherited land adjacent to Samuel Boulton, grandson Abraham son of Abraham inherited a mare and wagon, grandson William A Woolman. Son Abraham Woolman and friend Caleb Hancock were named executors. The will was affirmed by witnesses on December 10, 1839. [10]

1839 John Aaronson Woolman died on 29th day of month 11 at Burlington County, New Jersey. [11]
