Notes for Isaac Schnebeli and Elizabeth Schnebly

Research Notes:

There is no documented link between the children shown here for this couple and the parents shown here for Isaac Schnebeli, only speculation.

1684 Isaac Schnebeli may have been born about this time. "There is no record of an Isaac Schnebeli being baptized at Affoltern during this time period, so it is possible that the minister of the Hamm church wrote the name of his son Isaac by mistake and perhaps his name should have been Johannes Schnebeli (baptized 27 MAR 1682 at Affoltern). Further research may indicate where Isaac (died 1716 at Hamm) came from." [1]

1712 Elizabeth Schnebly, at age 37, married Isaac Schnebeli. [No documentation seen]

1716 Isaac Schnebeli "was called a Mennonite when he was buried at Hamm near Ibersheim, Germany on May 1716, age 32 years." [2]

1749 Isac Schnebeli [perhaps a son of Isaac] sailed from Rotterdam to Philadelphia via Plymouth, England on the ship "Saint Andrew", James Abercrombie, Master. He took the oath at the courthouse in Philadelphia on September 9. Johannes Rohr [perhaps a brother-in-law through sister Elizabeth] was listed adjacent to Isac on the ship list.
