1814 James Jameson, Jr. of Twiggs County, Georgia sold to Joseph Pickett of Anson County, North Carolina, all his undivided interest, as an heir of his deceased brother, David A. Jameson, 200 acres on Gould's fork in Anson County, in consideration of a bargain and sale made by grantor's father, James Jameson, Sr. and in consideration of 5 shillings. Dated September 3. [1]

1840 Joseph Pickett lived in Gilmer County, Georgia in a household with free white males: 2 (under 5), 1 (5 thru 9), 2 (20 thru 29), and 1 (30 thru 39); and free white females: 2 (5 thru 9) and 2 (20 thru 29); and 3 slaves. [2]

1842 Reverend Asa Edney died on July 28, at his home on Mills Gap Road. The last will and testament of Asa Edney was presented in court for probate on September 26, and was immediately contested by a number of his children and their spouses.

A paper writing purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of Asa Edney, deceased, was offered for probate by Calvin Edney and Samuel Edney, two executors thereto. Ambrose Edney, Marvel M. Edney, Humphrey Posey and wife Sarah, William Featherstone and wife Emily, Joseph Pickett and wife Caroline Amanda, come into court and objected to the proving of said will and entered their caveats thereunto. Ordered that Calvin Edney, Samuel Edney, Emily Edney, Sarah Edney and Newton Edney be made parties plaintiff and the caveators and Elias Sailisbury and wife Elizabeth, Phalby J. Scott, J.M. Taylor and wife Malissa be made parties and defendants. [3]

1848 Son Columbus Pickett was born December 14, in Gilmer County, Georgia.

1850 Joseph Pickett (age 45, born in North Carolina) and Caroline A Pickett (age 38) lived in Gilmer County, Georgia with children Emaline Pickett (age 17), Marius D L Pickett (age 13), William M Pickett (age 13), Qulieth Pickett (age 11), Sarah A E Pickett (age 8), Caroline A Pickett (age 7), Theodens Pickett (age 5), Joseph Pickett (age 3) and Columbus Pickett (age 3). [4]

1858 Joseph Pickett and wife Amanda of Georgia, were in a court case regarding the estate of Asa Edney, who died in July, 1842. [5]

1860 Joseph Pickett (age 55) and Amanda Pickett (age 49) lived in Gilmer County, Georgia with children Emiline Pickett (age 25), Julius Pickett (age 21), Elmira Pickett (age 18), Amanda Pickett (age 17), Thadius Pickett (age 16), Joseph Pickett (age 14), Columbus Pickett (age 11), Marietta Pickett (age 8), and Missoury Pickett (age 5). [6]

1870 Joseph Picket (age 65, born in North Carolina) lived in Subdivision 55, Gilmer County, Georgia, in a household with Manda Picket (age 58), Emiline Picket (age 37), Marietta Picket (age 16), and Missouria Picket (age 14). [7]

1873 Marietta Pickett and William Goble were married on December 4 in Gilmer County, Georgia. [8]

1880 Joseph Picket (age 75, born in North Carolina, married) lived in Town Creek, Gilmer County, Georgia, in a household with Caroline M. Picket (age 67), Emaline Picket (age 46), Missouri Picket (age 24), and Taloola Picket (age 10m). Joseph Picket's parents were both born in Virginia. Joseph Picket's occupation was farmer. [9]

1887 Marietta Goble died on June 10 and was buried at Talona Baptist Church Cemetery, Gilmer County, Georgia. Marietta was born on July 17, 1852. [10] [11]

1893 Joseph Pickett died on July 27, 1893 and was buried at the Talona Baptist Cemetery, Gilmer County, Georgia. [12] [13]

1893 "Atlanta Constitution, 30 July 1893. Death of Colonel Pickett at Ellijay. Ellijay, Ga., July 29- Colonel Joseph Pickett, aged eighty-nine years, is dead. He was born in Greenville county, South Carolina. From there he went to Henderson county, North Carolina, where he married and was elected to the legislature. He came to Gilmer before the Indians were removed, was once elected clerk of the superior court and represented Gilmer county in the Georgia legislature for fourteen years. He was one of the originators of the movement which resulted in the building of the Marietta and North Georgia railroad. Colonel Pickett was a high-toned and honorable gentleman and leaves a large family and many friends to mourn his death." [14]

1893? T. Pickett and J.R. Trictes posted bond for the administration of the estate of Joseph Pickett. T Pickett was appointed temporary administrator. The inventory was to be surrendered to the legal and proper administrator when appointed. Dated December 4, 1892. There were several sequential bonds dated 1892, but bonds on prior pages were dated August 1893 and bonds on the next page were dated December 1893. [15]

1898 John Columbus Pickett died on June 2 and was buried at Riverview Cemetery, Canton, Cherokee County, Georgia. John Columbus Pickett was born on December 14, 1848. [16] [17]

1901 Wm T Pickett, Missouri Pickett, and Julius Pickett posted bond for the administration of the estate of Mary Louisa Plummons? in Gilmer County, Georgia. Dated July 1. [18]

1903 Amanda Pickett died on August 2, 1903 and was buried at the Talona Baptist Cemetery, Gilmer County, Georgia. [19]

1900 Son Thaddeous Pickett (born in Georgia in Jan 1845, married for 33 years) lived in Adairsville, Bartow County, Georgia, in a household with Sarah E Pickett (age 47), Ovestus Pickett (age 18), Roscoe Pickett (age 16), Golden Pickett (age 12), Thaddeous Pickett (age 9), Edney Pickett (age 6), Dainty L Pickett (age 3), and James L Pickett (age 2/12). Thaddeous Pickett's father was born in South Carolina and his mother was born in North Carolina. Thaddeous Pickett was a farmer. [20]

1909 Son Rev Thaddeus Pickett Sr. died on August 7 and was buried at Talking Rock Baptist Church Cemetery, Talking Rock, Pickens County, Georgia. Rev Thaddeus Pickett Sr. was born on January 1, 1845. [21] [22]

1929 William Francis Goble died on November 1 and was buried at Talona Baptist Church Cemetery, Gilmer County, Georgia. William Francis Goble was born on November 16, 1851. [23] [24]
