Notes for Benjamin Wright and Meriam

1694 Thomas Wright, Jonathan Wright, Robert Wright, and Benjamin Wright were among those agreeing to attend town meetings, in Chesterfield township, Burlington County, or face a fine. Date: 12th day, 12th month 1693 (February, 1694). [1].

1705 Thomas Wright, of Chesterfield, deceased, sold land to son Benjamin Wright in 1705. Benjamin gave the tract to sons Benjamin and Stephen Wright. The executors of Stephen Wright sold Stephen's share to William Bullock in 1743. These transactions were summarized in a Burlington County deed dated November 7, 1747. [2]

1706 Benjamin Wright, yeomen, of Chesterfield Twp, Burlington County, West New Jersey, (son & heir of Thomas Wright) to Mary Myers, widow of same, £125...line of Thomas Roberts. Signed Benjamin (X) Wright. Wit: Francis Davenport Joshua Newbold & Richerd Ironeh. Dated January 13.[3]

1706, 1708 Benjamin Wright was constable of Chesterfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey. [4] [5]

1711 Robert Wright and Elizabeth Hyerton were married on December 20 in Burlington. Witnessed by Benjamin Wright, perhaps this Benjamin, son of Thomas, and others. [6]

1730 The will of Benjamin Wright, of Chesterfield, Burlington County, yeoman, had no legible date. Wife Meriam. Children Benjamin, Steaven, Patience, Merriam, Pennolape. Real and personal estate. Executors the two sons and cousin Robert Wright. Witnesses: Thomas Wright, John Bullock, Joshua Wright. Proved May 5, 1730. [7]

1730 Benjamin Wright bequeathed gave land to his two sons Benjamin and Stephen Wright in his will proved May 5, 1730. The executors of Stephen Wright sold Stephen's share to William Bullock in 1743. These transactions were summarized in a Burlington County deed dated November 7, 1747. [8]

1730 The inventory of the personal estate of Benjamin Wright was valued at £153.11.6. The inventory was made by John Cheshire and Joshua Wright on 30th day, 1st m. (March). [9]

1737 Benjamin Wright sold land to Stephen Wright, both sons of Benjamin Wright. Deed dated March 16, 1736/37. [10]

1755 Meriam Wright, of Chesterfield Twp, Burlington County, died intestate. On January 14, bond and administration to Harmanus King. Ralph Woodward and Obadiah Ireton Jr fellowbondsmen. [11]

Research Notes:

Benjamin Wright, apparently a different person, and Barbary Pippett married and attended the Philadelphia meeting:

1699 On 24 of month 9, Benjamin Wright and Barbary Pippett declared, at the Philadelphia Women's meeting, their intention to marry. [12]

1709 Elizabeth Wright, daughter of Benjamin and Barbara Wright died on 29 of month 9, and was buried at the burial ground in Philadelphia. [13]

1711 Benjamin Wright died on 26 of month 3, 1710/11 and was buried at the burial ground in Philadelphia. [14]

1717 Barbara Wright, widow of Benjamin Wright died on 20 of month 4, and was buried at the burial ground in Philadelphia. [15]
