1733 Marie Juliana Weigle, daughter of Martin Weichel [sic] was born on October 22. [1] She was baptized on November 11, 1733 at Christ Lutheran Church in York. Sponsors were Peter Balspach and wife Anna Margaretha. Also reported as Trinity Lutheran Church, York register. [2] [3] [4] [5]

1753 Maria Julian Weichel married Jacob Bushong on August 14, 1753, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church York, Pennsylvania. [6] [7]

1754 Jacob Bushong, blacksmith of York County, purchased land from Leonard Ox, of Manchester Twp, York County. [8]

1756 Marie's brother or father, Martin Wigle, was granted land by Jacob Bushong, on April 25, which Jacob Bushong had purchased from Leonard Ox in 1754. [9]

Know all men by these Presents that I Jacob Bushong Do assign & make over all my Right & Title of the within mentioned Bill of Sale unto Martin Wigle or to his heirs or assigns for value Rec'd as Witness my hand Seal This 24 day of April 1756. Jacob Bushong. Sealed & Delivered in the Pressence of Francis MCulloch Will'm MCalmond

1761 Heirs of Martin Wigle, deceased, distributed land from his estate on August 1. Bastian Wigle, Jacob Bushong and wife Julianna, Michael Sprinkle and wife Elizabeth, sold land to Martin Weigle, all heirs of Martin Weigle. The land was in Dover and Manchester Twps, York County, Pennyslvania. [10]

1779 Jacob Bushong was taxed in Manchester Twp, York County, Pennsylvania, for 3 horses and 4 cattle (no land). [11]

1780 Jacob Bushong was taxed 7 pounds 15 shillings in Manchester Twp, York County for 2 horses and 4 cattle (no land). [12]

1810? Maria Juliana Weigel Bushong died on 22 (year inscription is below ground) and was buried at Saint Peters Lutheran Church Cemetery, Augusta County, Virginia. [13]

1811 Jacob Bushong's will was dated January 14 and was proved on March 23, 1812. The will named son in law Philip Hains as executor and mentioned 11 heirs, who were not named. [14] [15]

In the Name of God, Amen, I Jacob Bushong of the County of August in the State of Virginia being in usual Health of Body and of a Sound and Disposing mind, memory and understanding considering the certainty of Death, and the uncertainty of the time thereof, and being desirous to Settle my worldly affairs and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me hom, I do therefore make and publish this my last will and Testament, in the manner and form following, that is to Say First and Principally, I commit my soul into the hands of the Almighty God, and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executors herein after mentioned or named, and after my debts and funeral charges are paid
.....Secondly it is my Real and personal Estate which I may die possessed of and make conveyence or conveyences thereof to the purchaser or purchasers and to make conveyence of conveyences to any lands I may have sold or to any lands that have been sold their contract
.......Thirdly so soon as the moneys which may arise from the owing to me at my decease can be collected by my executors, they are hereby directed to make an equal distribution thereof, into eleven shares so that sons-in-law Phillip Hains & Peter Nicholas to be my sole executors of this my last will and testment revoking and annulling all former wills and testament by me heretofore made, ratifying and confirming this and none other to be my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this Fourteenth Day of January in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred & Eleven.

c 1812 Jacob Bushong, Sr died and was buried at Saint Peters Lutheran Church Cemetery, Augusta County, Virginia. No grave marker photo is shown at the memorial. [16]

1812 The estate of Jacob Bushong was appraised on April 3. [17] [18]

Agreeable to an order of Court we the appraisers have made an Inventory of the Property of Jacob Bushong dec'd this third day of April one thousand eight hundred and twelf and is as follows viz. (Inventory follows). In addition to personal estate inventory, the following is included: 20 acres of land, bond on Phillip Null for $100; note on Phillip Null of $65 with interest from 16 Mar 1803; note on Phillip Null for $1 with interest from 16 Apr 1810; Bond on James Summers of twenty pounds with interest from 3 Feb 1812; note on Mathis Ansen of 19 pounds 13 shillings with interest from 17 Aug 1805; one bond on Mathias Ansen of $552 with interest from 14 Sep 1808; note on John Herrington $200 with interest from 25 Sep 1810; balance of bond on Benjamin Eagle of 54 pounds 18 shillings and 7 pence with interest from 1 Sep 1806; balance of a bond on Philip Miller of 157 pounds 18 shillings and 11 pence with interest from 3 Mar 1810; balance of bond on George Weathers of 2 pounds 13 shillings and 5 pence with interest from 29 Jul 1811; note on Phillip Edslin of 4 pounds 17 shillings with interest from 27 Nov 1794; bond on Phillip Null of 490 with interest from 19 Mar 1799; bond on Phillip Harris by balance due of 296 pounds 16 shillings and 5 pence with interest from 15 Feb 1812; To an article of agreement between Jacob Bushong dec'd and Henry Accord in the purchase of a plantation in Pendleton County the said Accord is indebted to the estate of Jacob Bushong dec'd the sum of two hundred & fifty pounds bearing interest from the different installments described in the said Article bearing date the 5th day of November 1806. Appraisers - James Kirk, Daniel Fall, Christian Hottel. Ordered recorded on 22 Jun 1812.
